Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Veggie-Healthy History!
Q: How did you get here?
Jeanne discusses her health journey starting with a medical emergency that led her to a nutritionist, who helped her adopt a plant-based lifestyle.
Legendary Cruelty Investigator Gail Eisnitz
Q: If you were starting your career today, how would you do things?
I just think that the way to do it is to educate the general public who doesn't know what's going on.
Legendary Cruelty Investigator Gail Eisnitz
Q: Could you just talk a little bit about the process?
I mean, I interviewed individuals who had spent a combined total of 3 million hours on the kill floor, and without exception, they all said that they had either engaged in or observed animals being strangled, beaten, scalded, skinned, or dismembered while they were still fully conscious.
Legendary Cruelty Investigator Gail Eisnitz
Q: Can you just kind of answer that question that I'm sure is in a lot of people's minds?
I don't think you can, especially with changes in the meat industry... it's not possible to ensure that anything is done, quote, humanely.
Philanthropy for the Rest of Us
Q: What advice do you have for someone who wants to apply for a grant from Thrive or somebody else?
Make sure the proposal is easily understandable and has a clear theory of change showing how the project will achieve its goals.
