  • Love this podcast!

I travel so much for work and this is my number one podcast that I listened to when I drive! Listening to a more functional and holistic approach to the way society lives right now is so refreshing! Not to mention Alex‘s ads are the only ones I don’t skip through because they’re so catching with her random and crazy stories to get your attention!

You wanted to know our opinion on ultrasounds during pregnancy. I do ultrasound for a living so I see a different side of this topic. Yes I do think some Drs order too many sometimes. However ultrasound is important for looking at all of the organs in the baby and making sure everything is looking normal. Some abnormalities that we find before the baby is born does help so that Drs can be prepared for this during delivery, like gastroschisis (intestine is protruding through the abdomen wall, hea... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Why You’re Still Fat Doing Everything “Right” | Dr. Daniel Pompa
Q: How do toxins affect hormone signaling and weight management?
Toxins can damage hormone receptors in cells, leading to resistance (insulin, leptin, estrogen, etc.); addressing toxin exposure and detox pathways is crucial before or alongside any lifestyle change or pharmacologic intervention.
Why You’re Still Fat Doing Everything “Right” | Dr. Daniel Pompa
Q: What should someone do to wean off anti-diabetic or weight-loss medications like Ozempic?
Work with a practitioner, pursue a protein-rich, balanced diet, and use resistance training to rebuild muscle; explore peptides under professional guidance, and focus on upstream hormonal and toxin issues that contributed to weight gain rather than purely pharmacologic solutions.
Why You’re Still Fat Doing Everything “Right” | Dr. Daniel Pompa
Q: What's your take on GLP-1s and people stopping them safely?
GLP-1s can help with weight loss for those at high risk, but the weight lost is often largely fat-free muscle; stopping should be done under medical supervision with a plan that includes resistance training and addressing underlying causes rather than relying on the drug alone.
Why You’re Still Fat Doing Everything “Right” | Dr. Daniel Pompa
Q: How is fasting used in your approach to health, and what should people know before starting a fast?
Fasting is a powerful tool for autophagy and detox, but it should be tailored: start with shorter fasts, monitor energy and symptoms, and consider women's hormonal cycles; ensure you have a plan for breaking the fast gradually and avoid extreme regimens without guidance.
The Telepathy Tapes: Are Autistic Kids Mind Readers? | Dr. Diane Hennacy, MD
Q: How do you rule out parental or therapist cueing in these experiments, especially with spelling boards?
We used a visual barrier, mic'd both participants for audio cues, and analyzed the letterboard position to ensure it wasn't being moved to cue responses; independent review by researchers at Virginia and Oregon is planned to further validate.
