  • Ticks and the diseases they carry…

Instead of joking about introducing 50% of the population to a disease that ticks carry…maybe you could find some plant based ways for people and their pets to keep ticks from biting in the first place. Or a plant based way to eradicate ticks completely from this Earth. We can’t go outside anymore year round because of them. Lyme and all the other diseases they carry destroys people’s lives, as well as dogs and cats and moose and deer…and any other animal outside. Thank you.

  • Good but not great

Often good content and guests, but Rip is not a great interviewer. He’s clearly a warm person, though, so that saves the day most of the time. I always fast forward through the first 5 to 7 minutes of every interview, however, because he has to recap where he met the person, which is sooooo boring and of not interest to listeners.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep. 345: The Health Wake-Up That Led Javant Benton to Lose 80 Pounds and Reverse Lifestyle Disease
Q: How did you discover whole-food, plant-based nutrition as a path to health?
He describes a long, incremental search online driven by curiosity and a desire to live better, moving from early paleo experiments to pescatarian phases, and finally embracing nutritarian principles through Dr. Fuhrman and others, which culminated in his current cookbook and coaching.
Ep. 346: Erasing Diabetes - Peggy Kraus’s Fiber-First Rescue Plan
Q: What is Peggy Kraus's approach to mitigating the revolving door of prescriptions and procedures for diabetes?
She advocates starting to reverse diabetes through a fiber-forward, plant-based diet, regular movement, community support, and education, with an emphasis on empowering patients to take control and see real clinical improvements.
Ep. 344: The 15-Plant Breakfast Bowl That Keeps You Full All Morning with Molly Patrick
Q: What's the best way for people to learn more about you and join any of your programs?
People can visit cleanfooddirtygirl.com to learn more, join programs, and access the porridge recipe from the site; there is also a recipe blog that can be searched for easily.
Ep. 344: The 15-Plant Breakfast Bowl That Keeps You Full All Morning with Molly Patrick
Q: So, Molly, let's back up. What do you call this creation?
The breakfast bowl has evolved through several iterations—from the hippie porridge bowl to a gluten-free porridge and now a highly adaptable grain-and-lentil base that can be tweaked with different grains, greens, and toppings depending on what's available.
Ep. 337: Jet Benitez - The Keto Diet Almost Killed Him. So, He Turned to Plants.
Q: What recommendation or advice would you give to someone considering whether to go down the ketogenic path or more of a whole food, plant-centric lifestyle?
I would say just like Mike, my friend in New Jersey, told me, I'd say, do your own research. In my experience, definitely, definitely whole food plant based will give you a longer life, give you better numbers; everything just improved so much.
