He seems to be pushing a completely plant based diet, which is absolutely healthy and can work for some people, but does not work for many others. He seems to not have a subjective view on research- he may be biased. This podcast might be a great one for older people, but looking back to listening to this when I was young person, it can see it gave me a fear of food, which I still struggle with, and well as gut issues #beans, which I also still struggle with. Take his info with a grain of salt. ... more

  • That remains my top health – related podcast

Tho it gets a little odd sometimes when he's snarky, I can't think of a more informed health info. delivery method for me! I have now all 4 of Dr. G's books, tho I must admit it takes me forever to get thru each one, as I take so many notes... trying to memorize the info. 🙆‍♀️🥰

Very pro vegan/vegetarian viewpoint. Vegetarian is not the answer for everything and everyone. I’m glad it works for Dr. Greger but it does not work for everyone.

  • The best! One suggestion….

Great podcasts and great information! ❤️But your delivery and intonation can be improved, it made it hard to follow or understand sometimes. I also suggest that science studies best be explained like in a conversation style, instead of like reading a peer reviewed journal! also a lot “ums" and "uhs” when you not following script, a Toastmaster program might help! Honestly, I think you can gain far more audiences and have more impact by improving your delivery style! Thanks for your work thou... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Q&A with Dr. Greger 16
Q: Should my family get the flu shot?
Yes. The flu shot is especially important for older individuals because influenza increases cardiovascular risk; vaccination reduces the chance of flu and the associated rise in blood coagulability, which can trigger heart attacks or strokes. The host also points to broader vaccine discussions in How Not to Age and related materials.
Q&A with Dr. Greger 16
Q: How fast do you get vitamin and seed deficiency if you went on a full carnivore diet?
Vitamin C is present in raw meat but is destroyed by cooking; historical scurvy observations show that deficiency effects can appear within a matter of weeks, particularly with wound healing impairment, making it a relevant concern for carnivore diets unless fruit or plant sources are included. Dr. Greger notes that the carnivore approach could risk vitamin C deficiency and emphasizes checking nutritionfacts.org for scurvy-related guidance.
Q&A with Dr. Greger 15
Q: What studies would you like to see performed to help people?
I would like to see disease reversal studies on common chronic diseases, particularly focusing on how changes in diet can lead to significant improvements in pain and function.
Screening the Sunscreens
Q: What sunscreen options are available if your skin is very sensitive, even the mineral sunscreens?
Moisturizing your skin can help with sensitive skin, but try different mineral sunscreens to find one that does not cause a reaction.
Screening the Sunscreens
Q: What ingredients are the safest for lip products containing optimal sunscreen efficacy?
The safest would be sodium dioxide and zinc oxide, the two mineral sunscreens for lip products.
