  • Office hours or AI hours?

Have been a long time listener but the recent office hours episodes sounds like an AI Mark Hyman. Always valued the health views but this is disappointing

  • Go back to your roots

I’ve been following Dr. Hyman for years and he’s the reason I got into the holistic field myself. But…this podcast has become more commercial than informational. So much that there’s not much that he hasn’t already shared before. It’s primarily about pitching Function Health (which I love) and all of his affiliate links/associations. Really to the point where I only listen to an episode once a month or every other month and I don’t feel like I’m missing anything. Kind of disappointed to be hone... more

  • Exercise induced migraine

Thank you Dr Hyman for the insights on what may be happening in the body related to migraine. I have suffered with migraines since my early 20’s, I am 41 and currently have a neurologist manage my headaches through many injections. However NOTHING touches my exercise induced migraines and they are the worst. Emergency room level pain. Help with any ideas, I can’t afford a functional medicine dr currently but need help shedding some light on this. Any new research? pain headaches

  • Great content, but please keep the focus on health!

While I greatly value the medical and lifestyle information shared on the podcast, I find it disappointing when the conversation turns toward political commentary or religious interpretation. In the recent episode, Dr. Sharon Malone’s comments about the Bible felt unnecessary and out of place in a discussion I came to for health and science-based content.

I say this as someone with friends and family across a wide range of political and religious perspectives. I appreciate thoughtful discussion... more

Why Reproductive Health May Be the Most Important Biomarker for Women's Longevity | Dr. Natalie Crawford
Q: What practical steps should someone take to improve inflammatory burden and support hormonal health?
Prioritize sleep, manage stress, build muscle through resistance training, reduce exposure to toxins (especially endocrine disruptors), follow an anti-inflammatory diet rich in fiber, fruits, vegetables, healthy fats, and quality proteins, and regularly reassess biomarkers like fasting insulin and AMH to guide personalized decisions.
Could Diet Reverse the Course of MS? Dr. Terry Wahls' Remarkable Recovery
Q: What does it mean to treat the root causes and create health rather than just managing disease, and how does that translate into clinical practice?
It means prioritizing interventions that support the body's innate healing processes—nutrition, sleep, stress reduction, movement, and social connection—while tailoring them to the individual so that health is built systemically. This approach often reduces reliance on medications and aligns care with real-world biology rather than single-disease paradigms.
Is HRT Safe? 10 Questions Women Ask Most — Answered by a Functional MD
Q: What symptoms does HRT most effectively address?
Estrogen/progesterone therapy is most effective for hot flashes and night sweats, with additional potential benefits for sleep quality, mood, insulin signaling, and some aspects of vaginal health and libido when combined appropriately.
Is HRT Safe? 10 Questions Women Ask Most — Answered by a Functional MD
Q: What are the main forms of therapy and how do they differ in risk?
Oral formulations can raise clotting factors and inflammatory markers, while transdermal applications tend to be better tolerated. Progestins differ from bioidentical progesterone in their impact on cancer risk, with data suggesting bioidentical forms may have more favorable profiles in certain contexts.
Is HRT Safe? 10 Questions Women Ask Most — Answered by a Functional MD
Q: Is HRT safe long-term?
The discussion emphasizes that safety depends on individual risk, formulation, route of administration, and timing. Transdermal routes and bioidentical options may reduce certain risks, and when started in the right window and monitored, benefits can outweigh risks for many women.
