  • So well researched. Hosts are treasures of the highest order.

One of the best podcasts being produced right now. The noise Mike made in response to Orlando Blooms comments on Apple Cider Vinegar made me laugh out loud and startle my cat.

  • A podcast for my soul

I have been a listener since episode one, mostly by accident, and it’s probably my #1 podcast of all time. I literally high five every person I meet who listens, which happens more often than I would think. I can only listen to each episode once, but this has been so good for my sense of understanding of why everything is so ****ed up in this culture. I always feel like “ahhhh I KNEW it, but didn’t know how to explain it.” I wish I could go back to my childhood and try to make a lot of my strugg... more

  • Could be good

It gets tiring listening to people strain so hard to be funny. Michael is good on If Books because his co-host balances well with him. They both act as if we are too dumb to know when something is funny so they have to laugh for us. It’s simply difficult to listen to more than 15 minutes of guffawing over stuff that is mildly humorous at best.

  • I'm a research biologist, and I generally think health science reporting is not skeptical enough. Even though it's not a science show per se, Maintenance Phase does a good job communicating how difficult it is to go from scientific studies to concrete health advice. Bad health policy doesn't happen because scientists do bad experiments; it happens because everyone has biases and science doesn't happen in a vacuum. Also, Aubrey's laugh gives me life.
