  • Truly ridiculous

These two snobs are so nasty and exaggerate so terrifically it really is unlistenable. I tried a couple of times to listen and then I did the most amazing thing - I turned them off!

  • The Best

I’ve snuck into a graduate level gender studies seminar at Stanford and I’m not paying tuition. These 2 academics are so brilliant and my only critique is that Apple Podcasts didn’t let me find them earlier.

For example, the Tech Vibe Shifts episode about AI was literally the generalized, vague convo I’ve heard from them. The kept saying things like “These companies..,” “These people..,” “These billboards” “Conservatives this or that” without any real info on who ... more

Episode 128 -- Queer Women in Nazi Germany
Q: What was the landscape for queer visibility in Weimar Germany before the Nazi rise to power?
Weimar Germany was unusually open in big cities with flourishing queer movements, periodicals, and a temporary push to reform Paragraph 175, though it was not a utopia and prosecutions still occurred; openness varied by city and social class.

Q: What makes a society less susceptible to moral panics?
Statistically informed analyses, broad-based awareness, and a tolerance for discomfort can help mitigate moral panics.
Episode 108 -- Live from San Francisco, It's Moral Panic Bingo Night!
Q: What does the anti-Semitism panic have in common with other moral panics?
The truth within them is often more complicated and threatens power, leading to distractions.
Episode 91 -- The Mailbag Episode, Part 1
Q: How did you discover your passion for this area of study or line of work?
The host discusses personal experiences of feeling disconnected from traditional femininity, leading to a deep interest in gender issues.
Episode 81: MLM Nation with Bridget Read
Q: How ingrained in American life are they? Do they exist everywhere or are they really more present in certain areas?
MLMs are everywhere and it's likely the true scope is unknown. There have been periods where one in eight Americans were involved in them, and they have expanded significantly overseas since the 1980s.
