  • Many better podcasts on Health

Poor interview skills and comes across as ignorant during podcast. Responce constantly “mmm huh yeah” “yeah I agree” “mmm uh nice” Has nothing to add to the overall experience. Many other shows with more interesting and nuanced content.

  • Very good podcasts. Especially before he started bringing his wife on. It slows the podcast down, and she contributes very little, beyond "hmm, "mmm," and occasional bits of info that he could do himself much more efficiently.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#505 Siim Land: How I Ranked #1 in the Longevity World Cup and Lowered Biological Age by 21.1 Years
Q: What role does exercise type and amount play in biological aging?
A mix of resistance and aerobic work with a focus on functional capacity and avoiding excessive strain appears beneficial; extreme or unbalanced training can worsen some aging biomarkers if it harms sleep or inflammation.
#505 Siim Land: How I Ranked #1 in the Longevity World Cup and Lowered Biological Age by 21.1 Years
Q: Is lowering biomarkers like glucose or insulin necessarily slowing aging, or just reducing disease risk?
Lowering these markers can indicate reduced metabolic stress and potential aging-related benefits, but the broader context (genetics, environment, overall health) determines the real impact on aging.
#505 Siim Land: How I Ranked #1 in the Longevity World Cup and Lowered Biological Age by 21.1 Years
Q: What is a biological aging clock and why is it not a single, definitive measure?
It's a composite of multiple biomarkers and functional indicators; no one test can predict lifespan because mortality depends on many interacting organ systems and conditions.
#506 Stanford Scientist: Why Aging Accelerates at 44 and 60 - Dr. Michael Snyder
Q: How can wearables and multiomics change personal health management?
Wearables provide real-time data (HRV, glucose, sleep, activity) while multiomics deep-profile individuals to tailor lifestyle, diet, and medication, enabling proactive health management and earlier detection of issues.
#506 Stanford Scientist: Why Aging Accelerates at 44 and 60 - Dr. Michael Snyder
Q: How much do genes influence lifespan compared to lifestyle?
Genetics account for about 16% of lifespan under typical conditions, with the remaining roughly 84% influenced by environment, diet, activity, and other lifestyle factors.
