  • Highly recommend

What an amazing podcast! This is so relatable but also so refreshing to hear how Lara has turned her lowest, darkest times completely upside down! It’s so incredible to see someone showing awareness of this cruel illness and making it clear to others who often think it’s a ‘glamorous’ illness when actually an eating disorder couldn’t be further from that. Thank you for speaking so openly Lara! Really means a lot x

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#108 Reframe, Rewire, Rescript Your Mind | Changing Habits and Finding Purpose| Miles Furnell
Q: Could you give a quick overview of the Mind Frame Method and why you wrote the book?
The Mind Frame Method grew from a personal journey of seeking purpose beyond external validation; reframing actions through five levels of brain operation, and turning complex psychology into practical tools (scripts and acronyms) to help people live more authentically.
#114 Redefining Disability - Challenging Misconceptions & Building Community | Cerys Davage
Q: What's next for you and Unbalanced?
A three-year anniversary with a planned rebrand and a push to grow the show into a full-time project, with more in-person episodes and expanded creator presence.
#114 Redefining Disability - Challenging Misconceptions & Building Community | Cerys Davage
Q: What sparked the transformation from a shy teenager to a visible advocate and podcast host?
Lara and I had a shared history; my turn towards advocacy grew from a desire to be seen and to build a community, which led to starting Unbalanced during the post-COVID period and finding purpose through storytelling and connection.
#114 Redefining Disability - Challenging Misconceptions & Building Community | Cerys Davage
Q: What are common misconceptions you face about disability among young people, and how do you address them?
The biggest misconception is that young people are healthy and don't need help, so I emphasize that disability can affect anyone at any time and advocate for accessible spaces and understanding instead of judgment.
#114 Redefining Disability - Challenging Misconceptions & Building Community | Cerys Davage
Q: And could you share how you first realized the disability and how you coped psychologically as a teenager?
I started showing symptoms in adolescence, with mobility challenges and a gradual realization, supported by my family; I learned to cope by building a strong support system, staying open about my condition, and gradually integrating the disabled and non-disabled parts of my life.
