  • Essential listening

Since I first realised I have undiagnosed ADHD 2 years ago (aged 48) I have followed Kate’s podcast and honestly it has been life-changing. The content is so fantastically insightful, helpful and supportive for women like myself (and Kate herself) and contains loads of cutting-edge research you can’t find in most books. I feel I have found a whole new and wonderfully supportive community, and can now feel positive about my ADHD journey.

  • Great episode

Just listened to the episode with Meredith Carder, which covered the cycles of burnout which can become a feature of life with adhd and how to keep yourself on an even keel.

To be honest I hadn’t really considered this aspect of adhd in too much detail before. I’m not sure why, as I’ve certainly experienced it on a regular basis throughout life .. after a difficult few weeks this episode came at the right time, the light bulb popped on & thankfully I’ve had some great insights from the episode.... more

  • Searched and Found You ‼️

I just finished the show with Dr. Kustow and I truly do feel like a lightbulb went off!! I’m sharing this with girlfriends (middle age) as each of us has symptoms that we struggle to get diagnosed and treated. This journey has been going on for years now for me BUT the validation and understanding from these 2 professionals is enlightening and makes me WANT to research more‼️

Being a brain friend means recognizing that people shine under different conditions; you tailor environments and expectations to individual rhythms and strengths, rather than forcing everyone to fit one neurotypical mold.
ADHD Isn’t Laziness: Understanding Neurodivergence at Work, in Parenting & Within Yourself with Kristen Pressner
Q: Can you share the moment you realized ADHD might be influencing your family in a fundamental way?
The serendipitous moment came when our youngest daughter, while seeing a therapist, suggested I look into ADHD, which revealed that the issues affecting her and the family were biologically rooted rather than character flaws.
Dyslexia, ADHD & Why Life Feels Harder Than It Should (Even When You’re Capable)
Q: What are some lesser-known signs of dyslexia in women that professionals should look for?
Beyond reading difficulties, dyslexia can manifest as sleep issues, challenges with automaticity, verbal substitutions, and difficulty with procedural memory—affecting things from tying shoes to signing names, and often leading to masking or avoidance in social and professional settings.
Libido, Hormones and ADHD: What Every Woman NEEDS to Know
Q: What role do hormones play in restoring sexual function in midlife, and what are the caveats?
Hormone replacement can improve genital health, arousal, and sexual satisfaction for some women, but responses are highly individual; clinicians should tailor therapy, monitor for side effects, and consider different progesterone/progestin options.
Libido, Hormones and ADHD: What Every Woman NEEDS to Know
Q: How does menopause interact with ADHD in terms of sexual desire and arousal?
She describes how hormone changes impact the brain, mood, sleep, and arousal, with ADHD amplifying sensitivity and the importance of an integrated assessment that considers hormonal, neurological, and psychosocial factors.
