  • Information that women need!

This podcast totally changed the way I thought about HRT - my oncologist had refused it but referred me to a specialist menopause clinic who agreed to HRT - I feel so much better and can’t thank Louise enough for getting this information out to women so they can make informed choices about their own health.

  • Thank you Dr Louise Newson

I have no idea where I would be without the guidance from Dr Newson! Navigating the first stages of perimenopause when there was nothing out there to educate me on, in Australia I was constantly being shuffled around to specialists who had NO idea what was going on… thank you so much for giving me the knowledge and the power and confidence to know what to ask when taking control of my body and heath!

  • Respect to this lady

Dr newson is an amazing pioneer, pushing for us women to be listened to and respected by an industry who, not that long ago, locked us up or lobotomised us due to what were often hormonal issues. And all this without selling us programs and diet plans and supplements and all the branded “must haves” others do. She genuinely cares, so thank you

66 – PMDD and mental health: what’s really going on?
Q: Why is it important to consider hormones first in these cases?
Because many mood and cognitive symptoms are closely tied to hormonal fluctuations, and addressing the hormonal root can reduce reliance on long-term psychiatric medications and improve quality of life.
66 – PMDD and mental health: what’s really going on?
Q: What started you on this journey with PMDD and hormonal health?
The guest explains a long trajectory of hormonal sensitivity, ADHD and autism intersecting with menstrual health, culminating in severe mood symptoms that led to a life-threatening crisis; ultimately, hormonal treatments and multidisciplinary care helped stabilize her.
64 – Estrogen: separating fear from fact
Q: What are three take-home tips for being better advocates for your health?
1) Approach your care with humility from both patient and physician, recognizing you must collaborate rather than expect a prescription off the shelf. 2) Be educated and informed, using well-referenced resources like Estrogen Matters to discuss options with your doctor. 3) Build a consensus-based relationship where the patient and physician work together, sharing responsibility and decisions.
61 – Living with untreated urinary symptoms
Q: What would you like other listeners to take away?
Educate yourself about GSM, seek information beyond initial articles, and pursue appropriate hormone therapies when needed to prevent long-term suffering and improve quality of life.
61 – Living with untreated urinary symptoms
Q: What challenges did you face getting proper treatment?
There was a long delay with doctors mislabeling or not recognizing GSM, a lack of information, and inconsistency in prescriptions; it took years and the right specialist to get an accurate diagnosis and an effective treatment plan.
