On what to eat episode. I’ve lived in the Mediterranean in 3 countries and animal protein plus diary ie cheeses are very big in their diets. I think the idea they eat pulses and grains in preference is misleading. However most people do eat a well balanced diet and they all eat lots of bread.
The thing is they cook more or eat raw fruits and vegetables and salads in particular. But then their weather is conducive to cold food.
Encourage people to cook simple stuff and buy good bread. It’s easy... more
This is my favorite health, nutrition, science podcast. As someone who struggles with gastrointestinal issues and having to live with a restrictive diet, I have found this podcast tremendously helpful and informative. I am grateful and feeling better—plus I’ve lost 20 lbs! As a woman heading into menopause, I also appreciate the credible and reliable information to help me on that journey.
I’ve been listening eagerly to this podcast for years now and it is sometimes contradictory because the work is unfinished and deeply complicated as well as limited by what can be studied, who is studied, and how the studies are done. It’s just not simple. My mother’s advice still works, “Eat your vegetables, go to bed at bedtime, and go outside and play.” I’ve added “Fish, fiber, fermented” to the vegetable command. Thanks Zoe!
I love Jonathan’s summary at the end of each episode. I struggle to keep up and take in all the details but Jonathan just puts it in a way that makes sense, thanks Jonathan 😊
Amazing podcast - listened to every episode! At times however, the experts opinions are conflicting from week to week. For example, the episode on Omega 3 seemed pretty convincing that this was a healthy and beneficial supplement. However, the expert this week discussing vitamins basically said all vitamins are pointless unless deficient. It would be good if Jonathan could start to pick up on some of this with the experts to understand why there is this conflict of opinion. Thanks!
