  • I LOVE this podcast

I would listen to anything Dr Chris or Dr Xand decide to put into the world, and the work Chris has done on UPF truly changed my life. I’ve been enjoying so many episodes of this podcast but especially the one about hips with Dr Paulina Kloskowska - she was amazing and my goodness I feel seen! Keep up the good work and I’ll keep recommending everything you do to everyone I know!

  • Confirmation bias r us

Both presenters constantly latch on to anything that supports their existing views. I want to like the show and the guests are good but the presenters are not which is a shame because I want to like them. Especially around diet and exercise there is an obesity epidemic (diet) and a lot of unfit people out there (exercise) and yet the hosts latch onto any suggestion that tiny changes / carrying on as normal is fine.

Yes, promoting balance health from a younger age and providing accessible training tools could prevent declines and improve overall wellness across the lifespan.
Doctors' Notes: Balance
Q: What kind of balance problems do you most often see?
Most patients present with vestibular migraine and other balance disruptions where sensory integration is affected; managing triggers and lifestyle, alongside targeted exercises, helps reduce episodes.
Should you improve your balance?
Q: What can go wrong when someone has balance problems?
Balance problems can signal issues in one or more systems, such as inner ear disruptions, neuropathy affecting feet, age-related visual decline, or neurodegenerative changes, and often worsen with reduced neck mobility and muscle strength.
Should you improve your balance?
Q: What exactly is balance and why is it so important?
Balance is the body's ability to maintain posture and alignment over its base of support by integrating input from the vestibular system, eyes, and proprioceptors in the feet and neck; it is foundational because impairments can affect daily functioning and safety.
Doctors' Notes: Feet
Q: What happens when you wear high heels for a long day?
Tony outlines how high heels change foot mechanics by increasing forefoot load, tightening toe boxes, and forcing plantar flexion, which can lead to tissue changes and persistent deformities with prolonged use.
