  • Interesting content but there was so much noise in the foreground (rustling papers or something?) that I had to stop listening.

  • Would love more information about Adults

I listen to this podcast all the time and really value the insights. I do wish there were more episodes focused on adults with ADHD. I was recently diagnosed and am navigating this new experience, so it would be incredibly helpful to learn through this resource.

I also appreciate the focus on younger ADHDers—especially since I have a child with ADHD—but a mix of both adult and youth perspectives would be wonderful.

Thank you for all your hard work bringing together such knowledgeable experts a... more

  • Not ADHD Friendly

I’ve been following ADDitude for over a year, but I’ve only managed to finish two or three episodes. It’s not for lack of interest—I really want this information—but the long run times are overwhelming, and even when I do listen, I struggle to stay engaged. My mind drifts because the pacing feels dull. For a podcast aimed at neurodivergent listeners, the format doesn’t match the audience. I keep wishing for something with the same depth of information but presented with the energy and accessibil... more

  • Helpful for Kids and Adults

As a mom living with ADHD and having a daughter with ADHD, there are great strategies to help navigate. The only reason I am giving it 4 ✨ is because of the audio quality sometimes.

  • Life changing content, life ending audio

Audio is absolutely the worst I’ve heard on any podcast, but the content has been more meaningful than any other as well. With the exception of a few directly contradicting episodes (supplements do nothing for ADHD, supplements absolutely work for ADHD!) this show is amazingly helpful. The audio does make me want to punch something very hard though. It’s just that bad.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

597- Medical Gaslighting: When Willful Ignorance Causes Doctors to Dismiss Your ADHD Concerns
Q: What should I do if a clinician refuses to read contemporary peer-reviewed research?
Walk away from that provider and find doctors who are engaged with current research; advocate for a clinician who is curious, open to learning, and collaborates with you on treatment decisions.
597- Medical Gaslighting: When Willful Ignorance Causes Doctors to Dismiss Your ADHD Concerns
Q: How can I manage estrogen levels in perimenopause when doctors deny the connection to ADHD symptoms?
Seek clinicians who are open to updating their knowledge, bring in contemporary research, and consider second opinions; in some places, explore specialists like naturopathic doctors who can address hormone-related symptoms while navigating the medical system.
596- Family Dynamics and ADHD: Challenging Generational Patterns and Power Struggles
Q: How do you teach a child self-regulation when a parent struggles to regulate themselves?
Validate that regulation is a shared challenge and model concrete strategies like pausing, naming emotions, and step-wise problem solving; address the parent's own regulation first to create a calmer home environment.
595- How Your Circadian Rhythm Shapes Energy, Focus, Productivity and Cognitive Functioning
Q: Are they missing their natural window? Is this common?
Yes, it happens in adults and is termed paradoxical hyperactivity, where missing sleep windows can lead to bursts of energy when one should be asleep.
594- Is Resentment Poisoning Your Relationship? Root Out Its Source, Move Forward
Q: What is the approach when one spouse says they're fine, but they're really not?
It can be useful to express concern for the other and share the emotional impact rather than solely stating their behavior as a critique.
