I really like the content of this episode but wish we could just see the ppt slides on the iPhone. I went to the link to get the slides but that’s a hassle and not easy to follow along with the audio.

  • Poor Audio Quality

What a contradiction— a podcast for people with ADHD but ragged, echo-y and tinny audio - could not listen for more than a few moments.

I cannot comment on content because I could not handle the sound quality.

  • Interesting content but there was so much noise in the foreground (rustling papers or something?) that I had to stop listening.

  • Would love more information about Adults

I listen to this podcast all the time and really value the insights. I do wish there were more episodes focused on adults with ADHD. I was recently diagnosed and am navigating this new experience, so it would be incredibly helpful to learn through this resource.

I also appreciate the focus on younger ADHDers—especially since I have a child with ADHD—but a mix of both adult and youth perspectives would be wonderful.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

612- Poor Memory & Attention Late in Life: Is It ADHD or Dementia?
Q: Could ADHD medication mask symptoms of mild cognitive impairment?
There is limited research on stimulants for MCI; some clinical impression suggests stimulants may help, but this should not be seen as a proven treatment for MCI.
612- Poor Memory & Attention Late in Life: Is It ADHD or Dementia?
Q: Does ADHD get worse as you get older?
The ADHD itself does not get worse with age; rather, the demands on a person increase and may make symptoms feel more burdensome or apparent.
611- RSD Coming Into Focus: Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria in ADHD Brains
Q: Is trauma an aspect of RSD, and how does past trauma influence current experiences?
Trauma is discussed as a modifying factor; nurture (small traumas) and prior big traumas can prime the system, increasing hypervigilance and the intensity of RSD responses.
611- RSD Coming Into Focus: Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria in ADHD Brains
Q: Do men and women experience RSD differently?
The expert notes subtle differences, including more masking in women, and points to an article detailing these distinctions, suggesting sex-specific expressions of RSD.
610- Science-Backed Sleep Solutions for Neurodivergent Children and Teens
Q: Could sleep problems be caused in some people by taking a stimulant or non-stimulant for ADHD at the wrong time of day? What is optimal?
Stimulants can interfere with sleep if taken too late, but when used at appropriate times, about half of kids may actually sleep better. There isn't a universal rule, so parents should observe their child's sleep response and work with a clinician to tailor timing.
