  • Confused

I really enjoy your podcasts! Your latest said that acetic acid as a preservative was associated with cancer (as per research), but it’s in fermented foods which you said were healthy. How can that be reconciled? Thanks!

  • Thanks!

Hi Ella and Rhi, thanks again for a really interesting and well-balanced show. I’m listening from Germany, and on the subject of watching a movie or series without scrolling on your phone at the same time, I’ve been trying to roll out my yoga mat and do a bit of stretching instead. It’s worked well for me so far, and I have to say it also keeps me from nodding off, which I so frequently do otherwise because I recently had my second baby. Thanks again for your many inspiring tips — as a family, w... more

  • Blackstrap Molasses

Hello, I absolutely love this podcast and learn so much from you both. Appreciate you putting yourselves out there and all the research you do to help us all 💕 I have a question about Blackstrap molasses please. My Auntie has been raving about the benefits of this and encouraging me to get some. I’ve done a Google myself to understand whether it is something I should get and start having, however I am not convinced and wonder if you could clarify. My Auntie has been having a heaped tea spoon in... more

  • Amazing Podcast!

Love this podcast! Such an empowering attitude towards health. I also really appreciate the emphasis placed on data/science. Their approach is very similar to what we learn in medical school (in Canada).

  • Donald Trump?! REALLY?!?

This was a really poor segment. Speculating about how a tyrant might ‘benefit from a better diet’ and joking about him buying your books is not lighthearted — it’s tone-deaf and insensitive given the suffering he’s responsible for. Very disappointing from a wellness platform.

Q: What's the research on NMN and its effects on aging and health?
Currently, NMN is thought to boost NAD+ levels, which supports energy metabolism, but comprehensive studies on its effects on aging and health are still lacking.
Sweet vs Savoury Breakfasts, Celeb Supplements & ACV Shots
Q: What's your take on sweet versus savory breakfasts?
The debate on sweet versus savory breakfasts is nuanced. If you're not pre-diabetic or managing blood sugar levels, it's more important to focus on getting a healthy breakfast that meets your daily nutritional needs.
Sweet vs Savoury Breakfasts, Celeb Supplements & ACV Shots
Q: I can be really rubbish at eating breakfast. But making a breakfast smoothie often means I can get something nourishing in. I usually use oats and banana as a base, then add dates, peanut butter, flax seeds and similar ingredients. I've seen those online saying that blending foods like oats or banana reduces their nutritional value. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Blending foods like oats or banana does not reduce their nutritional value. It still contains all the vitamins and minerals, and as long as you make a balanced smoothie with protein and healthy fats, it can be a nourishing breakfast.
IBS, Oils and the Fats We’re All Confused About
Q: What are the differences between cold-pressed rapeseed oil and olive oil?
Cold-pressed oils retain nutrients better than regular oils, making them healthier options.
IBS, Oils and the Fats We’re All Confused About
Q: Is coconut oil safe to use daily?
Coconut oil is high in saturated fat and should be used sparingly to avoid raising cholesterol levels.
