  • Informative content but too many casual references to a stain on humanity

Content is interesting. Ads annoying and casual mentions of an illegal murderous colony suggests acceptance and normalization of it, it’s insensitive and morally wrong. L

Thank you for your positive way of dealing with the confusing aspects of the wellness industry - I really appreciate the no-nonsense honest approach.

I now use a lovely little tin that my husband gave me as my snack box - planning ahead really helps snack-wise ;)

  • Good Wellness Podcast

I like the intro section where Ella and Rhi speak about what they’re listening to, watching, experiencing. The nutrition advice is good - interested in looking at the Fibre Formula book, and I enjoy the expert guest segments. A little bit of my personal preference sometimes they speak so fast I can’t process what they are discussing and when they’re not always giving each-other the time to finish speaking it becomes impossible to keep up with the important information they are trying to convey. ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Burnout, Partner Diet Drama & The Smoothie Myth
Q: What is the best resource for someone trying to change their partner's diet?
Identify educational resources that the person can relate to, and avoid direct confrontation; share practical, tasty meals and model healthier choices instead of policing the other person's diet.
Fruit Sugar, Plant Diversity & When Healthy Tracking Turns Unhealthy
Q: Is there such a thing as eating too much fruit?
Fruit is beneficial for fiber and micronutrients, and there isn't evidence that eating fruit itself is bad; the key is balance, avoiding extremes, and ensuring other nutrients come from diverse foods.
Food Noise, Breaking the Craving Cycle & 2-Minute Habits
Q: Becky asks about skin care routines and whether red light masks are worth it.
Thivy explains a simple, evidence-informed skincare baseline ( cleanse, vitamin C serum, moisturizer, sunscreen) and notes red light masks can help with fine lines and redness if used regularly, but are a bonus rather than a substitute for a solid routine.
Food Noise, Breaking the Craving Cycle & 2-Minute Habits
Q: Alice asks how to stop food noise or addiction to ultra-processed foods without turning to potentially harmful medications.
Ella and Rhiannon emphasize satisfying meals with fiber, protein, and healthy fats, mindful eating, and planning to reduce hunger-driven snacking, while recognizing the role of marketing and the brain's reward system; they advocate small, sustainable changes and avoidance of extreme restriction.
Building Muscle, Protein vs Fibre & The Supplement Trap
Q: Simone asks about protein and fiber for muscle building and whether protein powders are necessary or beneficial.
The hosts explain that you don't need excessive protein per meal; about 20 to 30 grams per meal across the day supports muscle repair, while ensuring high fiber intake and choosing quality protein sources, with protein powders being optional if you struggle to meet protein targets through whole foods.
