  • More and more ads creeping in

I’ve listened to this podcast for years but the number of ads in it now is becoming almost unbearable. Elizabeth I love you but please think about providing a more enjoyable listening experience for us who have stuck with you all this time by accepting a smaller number of sponsors.

  • Unfollowed and my review deleted

I had written a longer review but looks like Elizabeth had it removed. I have been a listener for over 6 years and have unfollowed the show for many reasons. A major one is the near daily spammy ‘bonus’ episode releases telling me to follow another podcast. I’m sure this will be removed again, shame reviews that aren’t abusive but Elizabeth just doesn’t like seem to getting removed.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Hannah Murray - ‘Everything Fell Apart’
Q: What finally led you to step away from acting and reframe your life and work?
After a severe depressive episode and the hospital stay, the burden of being in the public eye became unbearable; medication and therapy helped, and I realized I needed a different, more sustainable creative path, which led me to write The Make-Believe and pursue new writing projects instead of continuing acting.
Hannah Murray - ‘Everything Fell Apart’
Q: How did the wellness organization affect you, and what happened during the deeper involvement?
The organization offered a seductive path with rituals, visions, and a trainee-mentor structure that felt transformative and tightly controlled; over time it replaced other forms of stability, and the escalation included expensive courses and a fixation on a charismatic leader, culminating in a breakdown and eventual exorcism-like episode.
Hannah Murray - ‘Everything Fell Apart’
Q: Tell us about that. It's specifically to do with being in your 20s, isn't it?
In my 20s I had a glamorous career but felt profoundly unhappy and blamed myself for not being able to feel happiness constantly; I explored spirituality and meditation, which gradually drew me deeper into a wellness community, ultimately leading to a re-traumatizing experience and a realization that constant bliss isn't how life works.
Richard Gadd - On Shame, Sexuality and Success
Q: What does your day-to-day look like when you're juggling multiple projects like Baby Reindeer and Half Man?
He outlines an intense schedule, starting early, long editing and production days, and minimal sleep, highlighting the cost of multitasking at the highest level in television.
Richard Gadd - On Shame, Sexuality and Success
Q: Was fame something you anticipated, or did it surprise you?
Fame surprised him with its speed and scale; while he believed in the work, the rapid public attention forced a reevaluation of personal boundaries and self-image.
