  • The dilemma of enjoyment episode - opinion

I’m not going to rate less than 5 stars because I still enjoy your guys’ work and contribution to the lifting community. However I must say I find Pascal’s comments regarding one going on holiday and enjoying every meal, super extreme. Pascal, if someone goes on holiday and gains 2 kg, why are you acting like that weight is never going to come off and the diet is ruined? Is that weight purely fat? Unless someone is prepping for a show, why are you taking such an extreme stance saying that one sh... more

The Truth About Bodybuilding Progress and Stage Success - Steve & Mike
Q: What are plans for volume adjustments in programs when coaching remotely?
The approach is to find a sustainable volume level and only increase if recovery, stimulus, and time capacity allow, emphasizing quality training first and using selective, gradual increases.
The Truth About Bodybuilding Progress and Stage Success - Steve & Mike
Q: Aurora Madison asked, does too many steps stunt leg growth?
They concluded that high step counts by themselves should not stunt leg growth as long as calories and training stimulus support growth; extreme activity could interfere only if it prevents maintenance or surplus.
Our Main Struggles in Bodybuilding - Steve & Mike
Q: How do you assess if a training variable is beneficial when progress is naturally slow?
Give yourself enough time (months), look for objective metrics and subjective feedback (pump, fatigue, soreness), and ensure any changes stay within safe training bumper ranges to avoid destabilizing progress.
Our Main Struggles in Bodybuilding - Steve & Mike
Q: What are your top tips for first-time competitors who can't afford a coach?
Track and analyze data on training performance, sleep, and weight; surround yourself with supportive people for objective feedback; and invest in education to understand the process, recognizing that progress comes from consistent effort and smart self-management.
Why More Training Isn’t Always Better - Steve & Mike
Q: Training at 5 a.m. versus 5 p.m. Pros and cons of each. Is there a trend with when top pros train?
The hosts say that both times can work; the best choice depends on the individual's schedule, body temperature, and when they can consistently train. Morning training often offers a clearer head and less mental fog, while evening training can align with higher body temperature and potentially better performance. Overall, consistency and sustainability trump a universal time-of-day rule.
