  • I'm not that much of a podcast person.

It takes a lot for me to subscribe and actually listen to new episodes and keep up.

With this show, however, it all goes organically and automatically.

It feels like hanging out with friends at a bar talking about our BPD-minds.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

BPD Relationships: Katja and Charles
Q: How did you guys meet and what drew you to each other?
We met during teacher training and quickly felt a strong chemistry with good in-person compatibility, which helped us build trust early on. A shared sense of humor and acceptance allowed us to envision a stable future together.
When Childhood Trauma Leads to Multiple Identifies (feat. Kat)
Q: What is the aim of your treatment right now, and how do you live with multiple parts in a functional way?
The aim is functional multiplicity—having the parts work together rather than fighting for control. We use the Comprehensive Resource Model with daily team meetings, cope-ahead planning, and safe inner-world spaces so each part can express needs safely, ultimately leading to a more integrated, less disruptive daily life.
When Childhood Trauma Leads to Multiple Identifies (feat. Kat)
Q: Can you explain what DID is and how your inner world with parts works in day-to-day life?
DID involves two or more distinct parts with their own memories and feelings. In my experience, parts like Isabella, Jess, and the littles front the body at different times, have varying awareness of each other, and can slidingly switch based on triggers or interactions, while maintaining a cohesive sense of self overall.
When Childhood Trauma Leads to Multiple Identifies (feat. Kat)
Q: Kat, could you tell us generally who you are and what your journey to learning about BPD and related conditions looked like?
I always felt different and was bullied, which led me to explore PTSD symptoms online and in therapy, eventually receiving a CPTSD diagnosis. This evolved into recognizing how CPTSD intersects with BPD traits, and how dissociation and DID fit into my broader trauma story, including childhood abuse and later life experiences.
First Survival, Then Self Discovery (feat. Danny)
Q: How has the medical system's approach to diagnosis affected your access to care?
Danny describes barriers around age of diagnosis, stigma attached to BPD, and the tension between wanting diagnosis for access to care and the stigma it carries, plus the shift toward gender-affirming care through supportive clinicians.
