  • Can we please stop comparing being gay to things like smoking.

I usually find John to be measured, compassionate, and kind. However in a recent podcast about a mom finding out her daughter is dating the girl she is having sleepovers with he said if she is going to hold on to her values she has to go all in on it and accept the consequences that her daughter may cut her off but it’s like smoking-of course as a good parent she would tell her daughter that she doesn’t approve of smoking but there is nothing her daughter can do to make her not love her. • Disappointed

I believe this show to be very helpful, in certain situations. He seems to be well-meaning and incredibly knowledgeable. I fear that it’s gaining Jerry Spingerish qualities and he is quick to imply that the marriages are over. I hate to hear that, especially these days. I’d like to see more hope and help when folks are in dire straits than a rhetorical “How can I help you”.

  • I’m binging ALL the episodes… ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

And they are FANTASTIC! I’ve dealt with trauma, PTSD, and reactivity my whole life. Even though the stories are all different, there’s always a nugget from every single one that I can apply to my own life. His advice has also helped me to help others using all that I’m learning.

  • Love this show love John

I've been listening for a few months and I absolutely love your show. My background is in Social Work and I am not too proud to say that I have learned a lot from listening to how you interact with your collar and how to demonstrate empathy and connection with people in a way that I did not always do before.
