  • Great show

I love the show itself, but the ‘trusted pros’ they push are not very good. I met with several smartvestor pros and they tried to sell me the same stuff that anyone else would. I emailed Ramsey solutions about it and didn’t even get a response. I used Zander insurance for life insurance and it was fine. The home and auto stuff has been twice as annoying to get set up with them as any other company I have used over the years.

  • Love Dave but Joel Delaney is a Feminist

Love The Ramsey Show, and it has helped me think about money in a much healthier way & kept me out of debt…but I can’t listen when Joel Delaney is on. I’ve heard him give some of the worst advice I could imagine to women. He’s told women to divorce their husbands on several occasions over the podcasts the husband listens to! This show is rooted in a lot of Christian teachings and when I hear divorce as an option, it really upsets me. Joel needs to keep it financial and not break up marriages. Th... more

  • Dave’s Ego Trip

The only time you don’t hear about Dave’s Ford Raptor, his new jet skis, or his lake house is when he is on another vacation; while his show flounders with stale content. Advice is predictable, unrealistic, and egotistical.

Increase Your Income, Expand Your Options
Q: Should I stay at a low-paying job or go back to a higher-paying industry if it's unstable?
Aim for stability and growth: find something you can excel at, consider a period of transitioning with a reduced role to test the waters, and avoid taking a leap that could jeopardize your finances. Build a plan to raise income while reducing risk, such as a gradual shift or taking a part-time path until the new role is secure.
Wealth Is A Strategy, Not An Accident
Q: How should a listener approach a big real estate decision when they're not sure it will be a good fit long term?
Focus on whether the property fits the long-term plan, assess true cash flow after vacancies and repairs, and consider whether owning a home provides stability that rentals may not. If the math is uncertain, prioritize a primary residence with predictable costs and only pursue rentals if they clearly meet your numbers and risk tolerance.
How Far Are You Willing To Go To Win?
Q: Should I wait for mortgage rates to come down before buying a home?
Dave explains that waiting is risky; historically, markets move and waiting often costs more in the long run, so the advised approach is to buy when prepared and within a solid plan.
Common Sense Beats Clever Money Hacks
Q: Is it smart to downsize or sell the house given a layoff and uncertain job search?
Not unless there is a clear cash cushion and you can replace the income; don't rush into selling a home you like—consider renting temporarily while you reassess your budget and plans.
Common Sense Beats Clever Money Hacks
Q: Should I go into real estate as a side hustle while I ramp up my forklift battery sales?
Yes, but only if it aligns with your rent coverage and short-term cash flow; start with the minimum prerequisite steps, test the market, and avoid over-committing before your income from the other job stabilizes.
