  • Mixed feelings

I really like the principles The Ramsey Show teaches. I find peace in knowing I don’t owe debt. My issue has to do with Dave when he’s on the show. He doesn’t have the patience for people and is often demeaning. I feel like it’s getting worse as time goes by. While I love to listen and learn, I now find myself filtering those episodes with Dave. I also understand from me listening as long as I have, Dave is will not care what I think. And that’s the problem for me.

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Fix The Money Mess That’s Stressing You Out
Q: How should Liz allocate her money given the $250,000 household income and $200,000 debt?
Work together on a concrete budget, stop funding risky debts like 401k while in debt, sell cars with high payments, and shift toward a plan to reduce debt within 12-18 months.
Fear Doesn't Call The Shots On Your Finances
Q: Should I invest the gold coins for the kids now or wait until they're older?
Given the moral and financial complexity, the guidance is to prioritize your kids' benefit and consider delaying investment unless you have a clear plan and open conversation with the coin's owner; treat it as an asset with explicit terms and consider other, safer ways to allocate the funds for education.
You Can't Out Earn Bad Financial Behaviors
Q: Should we refinance or sell assets to improve cash flow when debt is high?
Sell non-essential assets, focus on debt reduction first, and consider refinancing only if it lowers payments and improves cash flow without delaying payoff goals.
You Can't Out Earn Bad Financial Behaviors
Q: What is the best way to balance debt and income when income is volatile?
Increase income with side work, trim expenses, and use a strict plan like EveryDollar to assign every dollar; remove debt with aggressive budgeting and a clear plan.
If You Want Wealth, Stop Being Dumb With Money
Q: Should we sell the house to pay off debt?
Selling can provide relief if the long-term costs of staying (like ongoing mortgage, taxes, and emotional strain) outweigh the benefits of staying; otherwise, focus on cutting expenses, increasing income, and rebuilding the emergency fund while keeping the home.
