  • Disappointing

I just started listening to this podcast as I was recently diagnosed with cancer. I was very disappointed tuning into the June 2020 podcast regarding fasting. I thought this was a show about cancer not about politics. If hear one more show regarding the authors’ views on politics, I will unsubscribe and reduce the rating to 1 star.

Beyond the Cheer: An Honest Conversation on Holiday Mental Health
Q: What practical steps can someone take to create a holiday mental health plan for themselves and their family?
Set clear intentions, decide what you will tolerate, limit exposure to harmful conversations, make time for rest, and evolve traditions to fit current needs while staying connected to what is meaningful.
Beyond the Cheer: An Honest Conversation on Holiday Mental Health
Q: How can someone tell if holiday feelings require professional help beyond self-care?
If sadness, emptiness, or hopelessness persists beyond the holiday period, interferes with daily functioning at work or in relationships, or if coping becomes concerning, it may be time to seek professional support.
Beyond the Cheer: An Honest Conversation on Holiday Mental Health
Q: What mixed emotions do you commonly see in patients during the holidays and how should listeners approach them?
People often experience a blend of joy, nostalgia, stress, and expectation. Acknowledge the duality, set gentle boundaries, and plan small recovery breaks to maintain balance.
Inflammation's Edge: CIRS
Q: What is the connection between SIRS/CIRS and cancer, and why does inflammation matter in oncology?
Inflammation from SIRS/CIRS disrupts normal cellular energy production and promotes systemic stress. This can influence tumor biology by impairing immune surveillance and energy metabolism, potentially contributing to cancer progression or resilience, which is why addressing chronic biotoxin-induced inflammation is relevant in cancer patients.
Is This the New Frontier in Personalized Cancer Treatment?
Q: What does this mean for people diagnosed with cancer right now?
Clinicians may consider intratumoral bacteria in case-by-case decisions, with current evidence suggesting careful consideration of antibiotic use relative to treatment type, especially avoiding antibiotics right before starting checkpoint inhibitors due to worse outcomes.
