  • Great, informative

Highly recommend, after listening to two episodes. I am working on becoming a two-time survivor of bc, and I can tell you there is a ton of scary, misleading, and not-very-helpful information out there. This podcast has information that’s relevant to people with different types of bc and at different stages of treatment. It’s also current, which is important in this fast-moving field of health care. I have so many questions, but after listening to this podcast, I feel like I now have some good a... more

  • Disappointed

This women’s story was very moving and relatable. However, it said that it was going to discuss reconstruction. She had the Diep flap, which I’m leaning b toward, but trying to gather as much info as possible. Unless I missed something, it was never mentioned in the interview. So very disappointed!

How to Best Treat Oligometastatic Breast Cancer
Q: Could you summarize the main finding of the study regarding surgery of the primary tumor?
The study found that patients who had breast surgery as part of their treatment tended to have better survival than those who did not, particularly when combined with treatment of distant metastases, though causation cannot be proven due to the retrospective nature of the data.
Top Breast Cancer Research at ASCO 2026
Q: What about the role of ovarian suppression in the prosigna-driven strategy?
Ovarian suppression was required in the studied cohorts with Prosigna-driven decisions; whether patients can omit suppression remains uncertain and depends on individual risk and test results.
Top Breast Cancer Research at ASCO 2026
Q: Can the results be applied to younger patients under 40?
No, the data primarily apply to patients 40 and older; younger patients may not have the same risk-benefit balance, and decisions should follow the data.
Creating More Equitable Health Systems
Q: What are the four main health-system functions you focus on to improve cancer care, and why are they essential?
Governance, financing, service delivery, and human resources form the core of effective health systems; without addressing all four, you end up with inefficiencies and inequities across stages of cancer care.
Creating More Equitable Health Systems
Q: How does your personal diagnosis inform your policy work and your emphasis on equity in health systems?
My experience showed me the gaps in access and information, driving me to push for primary care training, patient navigation, and universal access to essential breast cancer care, so outcomes aren't determined by where you're diagnosed.
