  • Don’t make the same mistake I made!

I’ve seen this Pod pop up a few times over the years and skipped past it assuming it was for bodybuilders only. I’m kicking myself!

Content of quality is up there with the likes of Stronger By Science, 3DMJ, Sigma Nutrition, Revive Stronger, Barbell Medicine and Renaissance Periodisation; and for me the takeaways have been simpler to understand and implement.

Treat yourself and listen in, and head to the website too - it’s packed full of excellent (and free) “how to” guides.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

“How Little Can I Do and Still Maintain?”
Q: What did your initial bulk look like and how did you respond to early feedback?
Early bulk involved training five days a week and eating to support growth; some people told him he looked skinny after the gain, which led to adjusting tactics and increasing awareness of body composition rather than simply chasing more pounds.
“How Little Can I Do and Still Maintain?”
Q: What sparked you to start changing your approach in 2022?
He realized his performance and appearance were slipping, drew motivation from a critical moment at a nutrition clinic, and decided to start more structured tracking and a weightlifting routine.
"The Diet Isn’t Over When the Diet Ends"
Q: What is your goal now for Don's plan, and how does maintenance fit after the cut?
The goal is to lose around 15 pounds of fat, then to maintain that leanness by carefully adjusting calories and continuing to log meals, with periodic, minimal tracking breaks to maintain adherence.
"I Know What to Do… So Why Am I Still Stuck?"
Q: What are the top three things that you think you should do?
Track my workout, scale or track my macros for dinner, and be thoughtful about my travel workouts.
“I’m 42 and wondering: Can I still grow?”
Q: What is it that's going to take you now to the next level? Is there something missing with your training or your nutrition?
I don't think so. You've been putting in a lot of effort and tracking your progress diligently.
