  • Fascinating topics

Joe’s guest are so varied and interesting. I loved the episode about turning off the aging clock. Loved the idea that your guest wrote it as a fiction book. As a fitness coach this was an interesting take for me and made me think about our health and the process. The aging clock ideas is scary and fascinating.

Q: How can people know when to seek preventive care or biomarker testing earlier?
If there is a strong family history or multiple risk factors like high BP or insulin resistance, it's worth pursuing advanced biomarkers and calcium scoring early, ideally starting in the 40s or 50s to prevent progression.

Q: What originally drew you to preventive heart care and how do you define it today?
I was inspired by a patient who couldn't afford surgery; by combining diet, exercise, yoga, and other holistic approaches with conventional care, I witnessed meaningful improvements and decided to build a program focused on prevention rather than automatic invasive procedures.

Rethinking Loneliness: How Community Shapes Social Connection in Older Adults
Q: What's the difference between social isolation and loneliness?
Loneliness is a subjective, distressed feeling arising from a perceived gap between desired and actual social relationships, while social isolation is an objective measure of the number or quality of social connections; they are related but not the same, and researchers aim to understand how factors contribute to both.
