  • Brilliant Pod Cast

I really like listening to DOAC. I like Steven’s natural conversations and asking a variety of questions. I also enjoy the lengthy podcasts as they go in-depth and really give a wider understanding of the matter being discussed. I think these conversations are interesting and important, even though I may not always agree. Thank you to all the team

  • Dr. Martin Picard podcast

Very confusing episode on objective and contents which usually is rare on DOAC. Not sure why it was filled with so much unnecessary technical jargon, medical terminologies and tentativeness while continuously circling around problems without any clarity on solutions, tools, techniques to the audience like me. Extremely disappointing indeed!

  • Well done!

I enjoy listening to Steven and guests, even if I don’t necessarily agree, I enjoy listening to everything they have to say for conclusion and their why behind the conversation and their own truth. Well done 👏🏼 thinking outside of your own

Beliefs and interests is interesting to hear, even if my own belief stays the exact same.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Human Lie Detector: The #1 Sign They’re Lying To You, Catch Liars Instantly! | Dr Leanne ten Brinke
Q: Can you role-play or simulate a scenario to illustrate deception cues in interviews?
Yes, role-playing exercises were used to demonstrate how interviewees who are lying offer fewer verifiable details and show greater cognitive strain, while truth-tellers provide more specific, verifiable information.
Human Lie Detector: The #1 Sign They’re Lying To You, Catch Liars Instantly! | Dr Leanne ten Brinke
Q: What is more effective for detecting lies: cues or better questions?
Learning how to ask better questions is more effective. Specifically, asking for more information and using open-ended prompts like 'tell me more about that' pressures liars to generate verifiable details, increasing accuracy.
Human Lie Detector: The #1 Sign They’re Lying To You, Catch Liars Instantly! | Dr Leanne ten Brinke
Q: How long does it take to spot a psychopath according to your research?
About five seconds; people can extract a kernel of truth about personality quickly from brief interactions, and there is a meaningful though not perfect alignment between lay impressions and expert evaluations when exposed to short clips.
Andrew Huberman: The Real Reason You Can't Get Deep Sleep & Wake Up Exhausted
Q: Andrew, you don't really talk in depth about supplements. What are the five you'd recommend if you could only pick five for life?
If sleep is already good, take nothing for sleep; otherwise magnesium for sleep, at least 1 gram of EPA omega-3s for brain health, prescription-strength omega-3s like Lovaza for higher EPA, alpha-GPC for focus, and creatine for cognitive benefits when sleep-deprived or stressed.
Most Replayed Moment: The First Warning Signs Of Insulin Resistance! Check Your Skin For This
Q: So insulin insulates. How does it function as a transporter and why is the timing of meals so important?
Insulin moves glucose from the blood into cells for use or storage; when meals are late and insulin stays high into the night, it promotes fat storage and keeps the system in a state that makes recovery and normal signaling harder, which is why front-loading calories and having an earlier eating window helps keep insulin steadier.
