  • insufferable

So usamerikansi it hurts. Shallow, half-baked layman's psychology, the self-marketing slop that gets sold for mutual understanding, & has absolutely not a thing/zero/zilch/niente to do with the notion of critical thinking.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 65 - Three Questions with Mariska Breland: Resiliency, Partnerships, and Making Things That Matter
Q: What builds a good partnership and how do you navigate differences in ambition within a partnership?
They describe complementary strengths (rock and feather analogy), the importance of honest communication, and aligning on shared goals while leveraging each other's talents to finish projects and push the business forward.
Episode 65 - Three Questions with Mariska Breland: Resiliency, Partnerships, and Making Things That Matter
Q: What has all this taught you about what actually matters, and what do most people get wrong about resiliency?
Mariska explains that resilience isn't about stubbornly grinding through everything; it's about recognizing what you can control, adapting to circumstances, and choosing actions that align with your values and health needs.
Episode 30 - Getting Straight with Spinal Health with Suzanne Martin
Q: What assumptions do you think practitioners make about dealing with scoliosis that lead to wanting a protocol over an individualized approach?
Practitioners often fear causing harm and default to a clear-cut protocol meant to standardize treatment, but this misses the individual variability in curves, function, and neurologic factors. The guest emphasizes evaluating each person as a whole and combining evidence with clinical observation to tailor movement plans.
Episode 27 - Finding Your Tribe & Passion with Stephanie Comella
Q: As of today, where's your brain sitting on the in-person balance Zoom combination?
Stephanie describes a seasonal pattern: about 95% Zoom in colder months and a summer 'training intensive' with a higher amount of in-person work, which re-energizes her and her clients.
Episode 46 - The Shoulder Episode: Exploring the Truth About How You Move This Complex Joint System
Q: Question three: what is your spine doing when you move your shoulders, and how can you test and train this relationship?
The spine often moves with the shoulder in ways people don't realize; by testing rib-pelvis movement during arm elevation and using cues like door-frame or neck-hand relationships, you can teach the brain to coordinate spine and shoulder girdle for better, safer movement.
