The episode with the divorced woman in a polyamorous relationship was an excellent listen. A master class in how to give and receive therapeutic wisdom. Esther has such talent for and skill in analysis and utilizing various methodologies to draw out self-understanding. The client demonstrated self-awareness, vulnerability, and emotional intelligence that made it so satisfying to witness her growth. One of the best episodes in an already stellar podcast.
I find these podcasts so insightful and moving. Esther’s ability to translate peoples’ somewhat chaos into something rational and understandable in most cases helps me to link into my own experiences and make sense of them.
This podcast’s early seasons were incredibly insightful and interesting. Now the quality has dipped so much I struggle to listen to a full episode. Esther seems only preoccupied with bringing the show home, with finding a mind blowing sentence that can resolve the episode. She often goes off tangents that honestly don’t add anything meaningful to the point. The probl... more
Lately Esther talks way too much in the newer sessions. Like she's giving a sermon and won't give the client a chance to speak or expand upon what she or he is feeling. Com on Esther! When did this show become all about you and your thoughts and less about what the client is going through? I have been tuning out lately as Esther keeps going on a long, philosophical tangent and I have a feeling the poor client is feeling the same.
I’m sorry, but this guy was incredibly selfish and self-centered. He blew up not only his own life, but those around him. This sounds awful, but he got what he deserved. At the end of the day, she was not available. Full stop. She was in a relationship. And neither was he, but it sounds like he had one foot out the door in his relationship… which is very sad for his ex-girlfriend. This episode made me angry because it didn’t have to end that way. I had this happen to me, so I may be internalizin... more
