Q: How did the medical team present the option of TFMR, and what helped you in the decision-making process?

TFMR Grey Diagnosis (T21): UK Panel
Q: Katie, why don't we start with you? Just give us some background of your experience.
Katie explains her 2022–2023 TFMR journey, detailing the initial high-risk result for T21, subsequent testing (NIPT, CVS, amnio), the decision-making process over several weeks, and choosing to end the pregnancy to prevent potential lifelong impacts on her family, while also processing guilt and seeking information to inform her choice.
Third Trimester TFMR and stopping TTC
Q: How did the decision-making process feel in the final days before the delivery?
Healthcare professionals advised delaying the decision, but the couple felt compelled to act the next day, amid intense emotional complexity and fear for the baby's suffering, and ultimately said goodbye to Hamish.
