  • POD of Enlightenment

Wow, this is a podcast that is filled with enlightenment and pearls. In our formal education, there are many things that we are not exposed to for various reasons. We simply don’t know or appreciate those concepts that we’ve never been exposed to. Dr. Barrett’s podcast has been very enlightening and has opened my eyes to many different approaches to treating our patients. Thank you and keep em coming! Frank Henry DPM Marble Falls, Texas

The Four Pillars of Biological Health | Nick Dorsey | S8 - E17
Q: How can listeners contact you or learn more about the Four Pillars framework?
Visit quiz.functionalchemistry.com to take the Four Pillars quiz and explore onboarding; more information is available at functionalchemistry.com and the show's notes.
The Four Pillars of Biological Health | Nick Dorsey | S8 - E17
Q: How can people start applying The Four Pillars in their daily life to move toward healthy fertility and overall health?
By addressing both the knowledge base and practical applications—focus on foundational nutrition, sleep, movement, and emotionally informed practices; work toward mineral balance, gut health, and mindful stress management to support long-term health and fertility goals.
The Four Pillars of Biological Health | Nick Dorsey | S8 - E17
Q: Nick, I've got a question for you on the microbiome. How long does it take to mess up the gut microbiome and how quickly can changes occur after an antibiotic post-op scenario?
The microbiome is adaptable and continually changing with daily environmental inputs; disturbances can have swift effects, but restoration follows the foundational pillars and restoring soil-like balance often requires time and consistent, holistic interventions rather than quick fixes.
32 Free Radicals vs Astaxanthin | Samuel Shepherd | S8 - E20
Q: Sam, can you explain why Valasta's astaxanthin has higher bioavailability than standard astaxanthin?
The glucosidic bond attached to astaxanthin allows uptake through glucose channels and direct membrane diffusion, enabling intracellular delivery and greater antioxidant action at the cellular level.
Surgeons Ignore This 82% Study | Dr. Marc Pietropaoli | S8 - E19
Q: What is the significance of the Hernigou study in your practice?
Hernigou demonstrated that concentrated stem cells can heal bone marrow lesions, with long-term follow-up showing a high rate of avoiding knee replacements, which shifted the focus toward bone-centered regenerative strategies.
