Hi, today for my 1st time I listened to one of your episodes which was the 3/26/26 show. The stars must have been aligned because the topic was just what I needed to hear I am a couple of weeks shy of being 4 Years clean and sober and I have been feeling lately that I have plateaued but this episode gave me the knowledge of what to do to stay strong and focused. I won’t loose sight of the main goal. Thank-you kindly. Steve From NH !

  • Keep it up Shane

I really enjoy hearing Shane be real. Those are my favorite episodes, when he just comes out with facts and real life. I mostly skip the episodes with guests because I don’t find them helpful. I like the story’s of every day man. I dont relate to sports guys or famous people, I’d much rather hear from the guy who has a good job and deals with the normal stress like most of us.

  • Decent enough content

Good content and presentation overall, and Shane is easy to listen to, but it quickly got repetitious. I'm not religious which may be why it felt like Christianity kept getting pumped down my throat. It always feels like he's talking about guys running their businesses as though everyone who listens is either a business owner or striving towards that constantly. That seems out of touch with the vast majority of people everywhere.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Why So Many Successful Men Feel Lost | Brandon Siler
Q: Do you see correlations between recovering from an injury and recovering from addiction?
Yes, both require a structured rehab approach, but mental health rehab is less visible and takes longer; it benefits from similar consistency and support structures as physical rehab.
Why So Many Successful Men Feel Lost | Brandon Siler
Q: Why do so many elite athletes struggle after their career ends?
It's largely an identity crisis post-sport, compounded by the abrupt loss of structure and purpose, which can be addressed by building a new, meaningful identity and accessing mental health resources.
I Was Sober for 11 Years... Then I Went Back | Matt Farnsworth
Q: How do you view the role of faith in recovery and what would you tell someone secretly miserable 10+ years sober?
Faith is a sustaining force that provides meaning, purpose, and a framework to endure difficult days; I would urge them to acknowledge the pain, seek community, and consider a bottom moment as a catalyst for recommitting to a higher purpose and supportive practices.
I Was Sober for 11 Years... Then I Went Back | Matt Farnsworth
Q: What was going through your mind when you faced the possibility of a bottom and what did you tell yourself?
I confronted the harsh truth that bottoming out was inevitable if I kept compromising, and I told myself I needed to choose honesty, take responsibility, and seek something bigger than my addiction—ultimately choosing Christ and accountability to build a new life.
Why More People Are Questioning Alcohol Than Ever Before | Paul Churchill from Recovery Elevator
Q: Can someone in the middle of the spectrum between moderate drinking and full-blown addiction successfully moderate, or is that a dangerous idea?
The guest argues that moderation is often ineffective for problematic drinking; data from hundreds of interviews suggests moderation rarely works long-term, and moving toward complete sobriety often unlocks energy for positive life changes.
