Being sober isn't a punishment. Sober life is not a last resort for weak-willed losers who aren't strong enough to figure it out. You can be sober without feeling deprived or left out. Millions of people wake up with another hangover and Google, "how do I know if I'm an alcoholic?". We get stuck on the label and the stigma, when instead we should be asking ourselves, "is alcohol making me miserabl... more

  • Great if you want to more deeply understand alcoholism or alcohol in society

I have been sober for 3 years but I still have so many questions. I want to know everything about what happened to me and how non alcoholics experience alcohol. This podcast is wonderful to answer so many questions! My sobriety is even stronger and some of the things Gill says are so meaningful to me and I can relate 100%

  • So helpful

I cannot thank you enough for this podcast. I am only on day 20 of my alcohol free life after a solid 10 years (at least) of daily drinking 10 units or more per day. My journey began with awful anxiety and depression that was more like terror and dread. I began to understand that alcohol was making it worse. I found this podcast and have been binge listening since my first few days. It has been so helpful in understanding what is going on during my transition to sobriety. Again - thank you.
