  • Good podcast but maybe tiered advice?

I like Lifekit, I’ve been listening since 2020. And while I like the format, I find the advice is mostly for complete beginners. Maybe add a tier for intermediate or advanced.

Also I think the explosive power episode was misleading and a different guest would’ve been better informed. The exercise oncologist may have been providing advice for chronically ill people because many adults can do more than she recommended. Also explosive exercises can be a great warmup for strength training, so I don... more

  • Overly simplistic, lacks context

Although I enjoy the concept of Life Kit, I find the episodes overly simplistic, obvious and common knowledge. They also lack context and nuance. They assume the listener has money, time, and resources to intact the change they recommend. It’s patronizing. Also the “takeaways” infuriate me as they are simply repeating the exact point that’s just been made.

Q: If you did decide that you wanted to have some gold in your portfolio, what percentage might a financial advisor suggest you shift from stocks or bonds to gold?

Gold is having a moment. Is now the time to invest?
Q: So maybe you're wondering, should I get in on this if gold is doing so well?
The guest suggests considering gold as part of a diversified portfolio rather than a sole bet, noting that while gold can hedge against risk, it doesn't generate income and its price is volatile; many advisors recommend a conservative exposure, often under 5% for most portfolios, depending on individual risk tolerance.
