  • Unclear purpose

The content for Shopify is extensive, the content for WordPress is virtually nonexistent. WordPress e-commerce store manager and have been following this podcast and been disappointed that almost exclusively the podcast covers Shopify.

I guess it’s good if your Shopify

I did search and found out of 200+ episodes there’s one on WordPress. Also one on Magento.

I’d like to find a podcast that’s more universal on e-commerce.

  • Excellent resource for eCommerce professionals

Being on the agency side, the information in Re:platform was immediately helpful to me while conducting my own Replatforming project. Paul and James share a ton of valuable knowledge in these episodes and, in doing so, establish themselves as experts in the field. Well done. Keep up the great work.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

EP340: Mastering B2B Ecommerce - Meeting Buyer & Seller Demands with Industry Expert Jason Greenwood
Q: I'd love you to talk a bit about how is this impacting B2B companies in terms of the roles they need, the type of person they need in order to interface properly with modern buyers.
Jason explains that success hinges on recognizing shifts in buying patterns, embracing new technology with the right attitude rather than age, overcoming sales team resistance through early engagement, and using digital tools to augment rather than replace core sales skills. He emphasizes training, onboarding, and parity incentives across channels to maintain trust and drive adoption.
EP337:What Role Should An Ecommerce Consultant Play in Website Migrations & How Do You Ensure They Add Value?
Q: What core skills should an ecommerce leader demand from a consultant to ensure value?
Empathy and soft skills to understand client constraints, plus the ability to interpret true needs versus wants, phase information for different stakeholders, and provide credible, evidence-based recommendations that cut through noise and offer clear, actionable options.
EP332: How Mature Is Shopify’s POS? Feature Strengths & Operational Limitations, With Kubix Operations Director Joseph Brown
Q: What are some of the most challenging edge cases seen in implementations?
Edge cases include made-to-order products, weight-based pricing with scales and Bluetooth-connected devices, and complex inventory scenarios with multi-warehouse lead times. These require careful architecture, such as custom apps or meta-field strategies, and sometimes multiple orders to satisfy complex requirements.
EP332: How Mature Is Shopify’s POS? Feature Strengths & Operational Limitations, With Kubix Operations Director Joseph Brown
Q: What should a discovery phase emphasize to avoid late-stage roadblocks when adopting Shopify POS?
Discovery should focus on current workflows, integration touchpoints with e-commerce and ERP systems, and realistic expectations about unification versus agility. It should involve cross-functional teams early, map to future state, and assess hardware, storage, and regional catalog needs to prevent later 'bolt-on' sprawl.
EP332: How Mature Is Shopify’s POS? Feature Strengths & Operational Limitations, With Kubix Operations Director Joseph Brown
Q: Where does Shopify POS currently shine, and where are its gaps for large store estates?
Shopify POS excels in fast, in-store data presentation, loyalty, and omnichannel visibility, with improvements in centralized control and granular roles. Gaps include inventory maturity (e.g., line-item level split fulfillment), inbound transfers, B2B catalog support, and certain payment/hardware integrations that hinder full enterprise readiness.
