  • Unhinged

This lovely, irreverent piece of babble is not actually a knock-off of Harry Potter and the Wonks of Finance (despite the lead characters’ resemblance), but brings all of the authenticity of the markets, aged insights, and squeaky bum times befitting a serious financial inquiry. Plus Long and Shorts! Demonstrably delightful

(ps- it’s time to kick Ethan out of the credits, it’ll be ok)

  • Talk about

So don’t you think it’s time to talk about the profits made by war ? You know the one you started? Then align it to why you have zig zagging effect? Then align it to your corruption rackets that super rich are benefiting from? Or should we just keep ignoring the elephant in the room

  • Behind the times

Out of date chat and analysis. Just listened to their chip/software debate. Software is gaining in value not on its knees as they say.

  • Normal person who loves the show

I like your take on complicated subjects and I have a question. Regarding Space X you say : “I'm just saying that, right? And things happen and buyer beware, and nobody's forced to own anything they don't want to own. And we're all grown ups here.”

As a 401k-IRA saver who has neither the time nor the skills to trade I can’t stop thinking about how to not feel —or really be —forced through indexed funds

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

How to surf turbulent markets
Q: What should investors do with AI-driven market gains?
Ride the AI wave but balance exposure by building a diversified, low-cost portfolio and targeting high-quality, underperforming stocks for potential longer-term gains.
Can Trump make a deal with Iran?
Q: Could a 'muddle-through' deal be a plausible outcome that buys time until a future administration?
Yes, the consensus is that a weak, incremental agreement that is easy to spin as a victory could buy time, reduce immediate tensions, and keep energy markets stable while negotiations drag on in the background.
Can Trump make a deal with Iran?
Q: What would a long-term, stable status quo look like if a deal is reached?
A possible framework involves a temporary halt on major enrichment, a staged sanctions relief package, and a credible mechanism to monitor and verify compliance, with a longer horizon for deeper nuclear agreements and regional security arrangements.
Can Trump make a deal with Iran?
Q: Is there a realistic path to a short-term agreement that could prevent further escalation while setting up longer-term talks?
The guests suggest a staged approach: first reopen the Strait of Hormuz and ease energy pressures, then advance nuclear discussions; the key challenge is achieving enough trust and a credible incentive structure for Iran to concede on its red lines.
Will markets ever care about anything?
Q: Is it silly to talk about a drift into authoritarianism, or is it a reasonable analogy given world politics?
It's a reasonable analogy because there isn't a single dramatic turning point but rather a series of smaller changes accumulating over time that collectively erode checks and balances and introduce more uncertainty into policy and governance.
