  • Good info but lots of vocal tics

CAN THE HOSTS STOP IT WITH ALL THE “LIKES?” The biggest strength of this program is the guests along with some vital topics. The biggest weakness is the hosts. Both use “like” repeatedly as if they are valley girls. Joe is especially weak as a voice—lots of vocal fry and a “like” an average of one per sentence. It’s a level of cringe one has to get through to hear the guests.

  • Loved the interview on macro with Jonathan Heathcote economist at Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank

This was one of the better interviews. He was easy to understand. I would like more of these big picture interviews.

Brendan Greeley on the Real 500-Year History of the Dollar
Q: Is there a simple way to think about why dollars have value beyond fiat expectations?
Brendan argues that dollars gain value from a system of assets backing bank money, regulatory protections like deposit insurance, and a productive economy, rather than from a single promise of value alone.
Brendan Greeley on the Real 500-Year History of the Dollar
Q: Why does the history matter for understanding money today?
The hosts and Brendan discuss how money is manufactured and regulated through banks, central banks, and sovereign policy, arguing that understanding these mechanisms reveals why the dollar holds global significance beyond any single government.
Brendan Greeley on the Real 500-Year History of the Dollar
Q: Tell us a little bit about what you've been up to and the book's focus.
Brendan explains that the book began as a journalist's project prompted by an editor, tracing the dollar back to its 500-year arc and showing how the currency's meaning is shaped by global minting, trade, and institutional regulation.
Deutsche Bank's Ozan Tarman and Aditya Singhal on Understanding the Macro Risks
Q: Elaborate on how traders evaluate AI models and how much of their day is spent on figuring out AI.
Traders assess the relative maturity, applications, and cost of different AI stacks, noting that Western CAPEX is aimed at reaching high levels of capability while recognizing China's parallel efforts with different architectures and hardware. The discussion emphasizes staying focused on macro structure and real-use cases rather than chasing every headline.
Why Cerebras CEO Andrew Feldman Built The World's Largest Computer Chip
Q: Can you do fab tours?
You can't do fab tours, but you can visit the TSMC facility's museum of innovation in Taipei to see the broader ecosystem and learn about the manufacturing excellence behind these chips.
