  • Even things up a little

I’ve been listening to MFM for a few years now and find the show really inspiring HOWEVER I’m starting to wonder why aren’t there any women on the show? For women listening (I’m sure there are a fair few) it would be great to listen to successful and inspiring female entrepreneurs who are crushing it - just to even things up a bit. Come on guys let’s get some female voices on the show! You might get the fifth star you never know!!

  • I’m one of your loyal female listeners

Sam, thank you for what you said about checking your guests against the Epstein files. I’ve listened to your show for years now. I think you both have such valuable insights into entrepreneurship, business, adding meaningful talent to the world and growing wealth. I was stopped in my tracks, though when Shaan chastised you, Sam for caring about the Epstein files and talking to “nobody’s”. Initially, it sounded like you didn’t care about who was in the Epstein files… I know that can’t be true (... more

Not sure when the original episode was posted, but I started listening to this and recognized it instantly from a podcast. They did a long time ago. If you’re gonna repost content, at least be upfront about it and not try to sneak it in or repackage it.

Howard Marks: how I make money while you worry about a market crash
Q: How do you approach investing during a crisis?
You act on a disciplined thesis built over years, leveraging crisis-tested funds and credibility, while recognizing uncertainty and staying prepared to deploy capital when the opportunity is compelling rather than waiting for perfect clarity.
3 weird businesses doing $10M, $20M, $30M
Q: What was the burning question they wanted outsiders to help with?
How can they scale culture and retention across a large hourly workforce to sustain growth, with a specific emphasis on keeping agents engaged and advertising consistently.
Brutally honest guide to not losing money in the market
Q: What is direct indexing and when does it make sense to use it?
Direct indexing helps harvest losses and maintain index exposure, offering tax efficiency and potential improvements for high-concentration or highly appreciated portfolios, though it adds some complexity and cost and isn't necessary for everyone.
Brutally honest guide to not losing money in the market
Q: Why is panic selling so damaging, and what does the data say about sells vs. buys?
Panic selling often locks in losses and prevents recovery, while studies show that sells tend to be emotional and underperform; buys are more rational, but still not perfect, underscoring the value of patience and a defined selling rule.
Brutally honest guide to not losing money in the market
Q: What would be the simplest, most impactful point to hammer into an aspiring investor in 15 minutes?
Feed the habit of using broad, low-cost index exposure as the core of the portfolio, keep taxes and behavior in check, and rebalance occasionally, because trying to beat the market is often a costly and elusive endeavor.
