  • Realistic Business Ideas

I love how Chris always has people on who have realistic businesses anyone can start. It shows how many opportunities there are out there, and how simple it can really be. This podcast feeds my shiny object syndrome in the best way!!!

  • Really liked it at first, wish the host would stop pretending everything is easier than it is

Chris seems to be a bit naive or maybe a bit gullible. He doesn’t vet his guests, some of which are ultimately just trying to sell their “get rich quick” scheme to his audience.

Also, he often doesn’t ask his guests the questions that most people would really like answered…I think in fear that it would go against his rhetoric that everything is sooo easy to do. He got his start because he was able to borrow a large amount of money from someone in his church. So of course everything seems so easy... more

How a Mom of 3 Makes $50K a Month With AI (No Experience) - Ep. #322
Q: So how did you land your first $3,000-a-month Upwork retainer despite almost no AI experience?
I identified a client need, created a competing solution using ChatGPT, and pitched it with a Loom video showing how I could automate their workflow; I framed my past experience in a way that related to automation and built a simple, scalable setup that the client could visualize and pay for.
He Made $6K in 3 Hours Selling Lemonade - Ep. #309
Q: How did you expand beyond lemonade into catering and rentals?
They leveraged existing markets and relationships to offer catering (e.g., a $2,900 four-hour event) and rent out the cart to event planners, which creates additional revenue streams and helps scale the brand across venues and festivals.
He Made $6K in 3 Hours Selling Lemonade - Ep. #309
Q: What is your approach to pricing and margins?
They price a 32-ounce lemonade at $7 with a one-to-one syrup-to-lemon ratio, keeping margins high through controlled ice usage and careful sourcing, while prioritizing volume and event-based sales to drive profitability.
He Made $6K in 3 Hours Selling Lemonade - Ep. #309
Q: What does an average market look like in terms of revenue and operations?
Average Frisco markets bring around $1,200 to $1,500 per day (8 a.m.–4 p.m.), while Dallas markets can reach roughly $2,500 per day, driven by volume and higher booth fees, with substantial profits once overhead like warehouse operations and ice costs are accounted for.
$532K in One Month Selling Land They Didn't Own - Ep. #308
Q: What are the main risks or downsides to this model?
The main risk is market sensitivity and the challenge of exiting in a downcycle; another is ensuring you don't overpromise on offers and maintaining compliance with texting laws and contracts, which is why you build strong builder relationships and keep processes transparent.
