  • Superb

Informative, excellent interviewees and best of all it's balanced. They chat with experts from all sides of the political spectrum to get the best views snd a diversity of opinion unlike most media. Loved that they interviewed Richard Tice, Richard Grantham, Simon French, Tom Slater... Not so keen that they interviewed inexperienced Rachel Reeves - but it shows how unbiased they are..Superb.

  • the sound quality is hard to listen to

unfortunately i find the program hard to listen to. could it have been post-edited so heavily to avoid ai-cloning the voices? there‘s gotta be another way. at times it‘s hard to even understand one sentence if the consonants are frequently as distorted as they are.

  • Party political broadcast for Reform

Blimey Merryn, I am really surprised that you gave Richard Tice such an easy ride. This is a man with no political experience, a climate change denier, talking off the top of his head on subjects he knows little about and you let him espouse these views completely unchallenged. If you think Tice and his cronies are the answer to this country’s economic challenges we really are in trouble. I expect more from you and Bloomberg.

Active vs Passive: How to Help Your Kids Invest
Q: Is there any point in investing actively when you can just buy passively and be done with the whole thing now?
Over the long run, beating a broad market index with active management has been a high hurdle, and surprises from managers like Berkshire Hathaway show that outperformance is possible but not guaranteed; the choice depends on how one manages risk, diversification, and allocation, acknowledging that markets can rotate and past performance isn't a sure predictor of future results.
Why Investors Are Rotating Into Commodities with BlackRock's Evy Hambro
Q: Any changes to your view on Bitcoin after all this time?
Hambro emphasizes a broader view on digitization, including stable coins and tokenization, suggesting a belief in digital assets as a usable tool while remaining cautious about direct Bitcoin reliance, and highlighting potential for digital currencies to evolve alongside traditional assets.
Why Investors Are Rotating Into Commodities with BlackRock's Evy Hambro
Q: What are you buying in the portfolios at the moment?
The conversation indicates a tilt into names that have fallen relative to fundamentals, with allocations to gold equities, copper, and broader materials, while maintaining some energy exposure and avoiding pure coal plays.
Why Investors Are Rotating Into Commodities with BlackRock's Evy Hambro
Q: What are you reading at the moment?
Hambro mentions Cold Comfort Farm as a personal read, and broadly notes a shift toward lighter personal reading while away from business biographies, signaling a balance between personal life and market focus.
Markets Wrap: Gold, Bonds and Bitcoin Struggle as War Uncertainty Clouds Investor Outlook
Q: How much of the concern is about central banks raising rates versus governments potentially bailing out energy costs and how that could affect borrowing costs?
The discussion suggests that fiscal support around energy could raise borrowing costs, but the main driver remains the policy stance of central banks and the ongoing geopolitical risk, with markets pricing in a difficult, high-uncertainty path.
