  • Poor episode on 'Manchesterism'

Really disappointed by the episode on 'Manchesterism' when the guest by his own admission didn't know much about Manchester's economy. Worse, neither did Merryn or John, which begs the question why bother with the episode? What could have been an interesting episode examining how Manchester has transformed its economy over the past 35 years, boosted its population, and built its transport infrastructure whilst taking a pro-business approach ended up merely concluding that Burnham simply wants to... more

  • Lack of balance

I enjoy listening to most interviews, especially ones that have a strict finance focus and provide contrarian views on how to approach investing. The first time home buyer series was also extremely informative. However, as the flagship UK offering from Bloomberg, it would be great if Merryn and John could offer a bit more balance beyond their current anti government rhetoric and right wing views. Maybe it would be beneficial to have guests with alternative views to counter their arguments and of... more

  • Separate business from politics

A decent show, generally informative and enjoyable but I find the inability of the hosts to separate their personal politics from the reality of markets means they are relatively frequently incorrect on a whole host of issues.

  • Could do with more balance

To hear that you need to get out of the way as a government and just let expansion of oil production in the North Sea go ahead irked me. The point of government is to protect its citizens across not just the short term, but over decades. Climate change is being felt right now and to say government should just let markets decide what’s best for the whole population in terms of energy is missing what government is about. A bit more balance and thought to comments the presenters make would make ... more

  • Lazy Labor Bashing

The constant Labor bashing by Merryn is getting old and is just so intellectually lazy. The key issues of UK are not because of labor policies it’s because of brexit and thatcher.

What the Next Generation Wants From Wealth Managers: Part 2
Q: As wealth management evolves, how do you see banks' expectations of third-party data providers and technology partners changing?
The key is robust tech infrastructure and partnering rather than building everything in-house; data quality and governance will be central, with a need for scalable, resilient systems.
Are We Repeating the Biggest Mistake of 1873?
Q: What caused the 1873 crash and what were the key factors?
The guest explains that a global, bond-fueled boom led to overinvestment in railways and infrastructure, followed by a dramatic tightening of liquidity as investors switched from silver to gold during a crisis, causing a deflationary period and widespread defaults. Central bank constraints and excessive money in the system amplified the crash, with political and social turmoil following.
What Is 'Manchesterism'— And Will It Boost Britain's Economy?
Q: What is Manchesterism?
Manchesterism is described as an extension of state intervention applied at a local level rather than nationally, with the aim of improving outcomes but potentially increasing regulatory and fiscal burdens.
The Biggest AI Investment Mistakes Investors Could Make
Q: What are you specifically looking for in companies you invest in as AI changes the landscape?
We assess how AI will impact industries sector by sector, identifying where pricing power, cash flow, and regulatory moats will enable durable profitability, with healthcare, IT services, and select tech-adjacent sectors showing particular promise when combined with data and cloud access.
The Biggest AI Investment Mistakes Investors Could Make
Q: You mentioned that the initial AI applications brought significant efficiency gains. How is AI actually used in your business today?
AI accelerates coding, data processing, and testing across both fundamental and quant strategies, giving analysts more time for higher-level analysis. It reads transcripts, filings, and reports, but humans still decide, observe management, and interpret data in context.
