  • Average

Content average but presentation is bad. Hannah should not be in broadcasting or get elocution lessons and Dan stop using ‘you know’ and ‘sort of’ all the time as it’s irritating.

  • Waffle

Just appalling bad. The hosts understand very little about finances and know almost nothing about investing. Many of their guests, particularly those from wealth managers, are absolute novices who state only the most basic facts. Finally, both hosts and guests just waffle on endlessly repeating themselves. So ten minutes of information’ becomes a one hour podcast.

  • Hit & Miss

As others have commented, depends who’s on. Hannah needs to regulate her voice instead of speaking normal then ultra-quiet in the same sentence.

Keeps promising more coverage of individual companies but these remain sparse.

I do enjoy the wide range of topics on offer though.

  • Good, but

This is good when Dan or Tom is in the chair, but I’m really not interested in Danni & Charlene’s kids and personal life.

  • Always interesting, but this was a particularly good episode.

Only drawback is that each episode is quite long. For me, 20 mins would be better.

The £131m cost of the M&S cyber attack
Q: Danni, first on inflation, what's behind the fall? Did we get any surprises in this data?
Danni explains that the fall was flagged due to a comparison with last April and the energy price cap decline, with broader details about holiday prices and energy-related components, suggesting the change is nuanced rather than dramatic.
The scary link between politics, oil and your bills
Q: Dragon's Den has been a big part of your background; what did you find interesting about the pitches discussed in this segment?
They review notable pitches, such as Tangle Teaser and Pasta Evangelists, and reflect on how valuations and outcomes can diverge—some successes like Perfect Ted show strong growth, while others like BrewDog illustrate boom-and-bust cycles—highlighting the unpredictability of startup investments.
The scary link between politics, oil and your bills
Q: The interest rate switch is quite alarming, isn't it? And what other implications on personal finances does that have?
Charlene explains that higher gilt yields feed into mortgage pricing and loan costs, potentially pushing up rates and affecting savers who shift toward cash while borrowers face higher borrowing costs; it also means central banks may keep rates higher for longer, influencing long-term financial planning.
Cathie Wood: How to invest for 2026
Q: What are you buying and why during earnings season?
We buy names that give us opportunities during earnings season, focusing on overreactions and reallocating profits into AI-related names when there is perceived overspending, such as moves around OpenAI and AMD.
Investment Trust Show: Finding income in unexpected places
Q: What should investors watch for during Premier Mitre's potential wind-up process?
Investors should monitor key dates, understand whether they can cash out or roll into an open-ended fund, and pay attention to notices (RNS) and the options presented by the board, including timing for meetings and liquidator appointments.
