Generally useful. Sometimes too basic. Biggest problem is Hannah’s speech cadence is really not suited to podcast. Her interview questions are far from intelligent. The questions to her colleague in this week’s episode were so banal, it confused him. AJ Bell need to get someone more engaging, with a voice delivery suited to podcast.
Content average but presentation is bad. Hannah should not be in broadcasting or get elocution lessons and Dan stop using ‘you know’ and ‘sort of’ all the time as it’s irritating.
Just appalling bad. The hosts understand very little about finances and know almost nothing about investing. Many of their guests, particularly those from wealth managers, are absolute novices who state only the most basic facts. Finally, both hosts and guests just waffle on endlessly repeating themselves. So ten minutes of information’ becomes a one hour podcast.
As others have commented, depends who’s on. Hannah needs to regulate her voice instead of speaking normal then ultra-quiet in the same sentence.
Keeps promising more coverage of individual companies but these remain sparse.
I do enjoy the wide range of topics on offer though.
This is good when Dan or Tom is in the chair, but I’m really not interested in Danni & Charlene’s kids and personal life.

The show blends market analysis with practical personal-finance guidance, frequently pairing macro context (inflation, interest rates, oil, geopolitics) with in-depth interviews from investment professionals, fund managers, and industry experts. Episodes tend to mix timely sector deep-dives (finance, energy, hospitality, tech) with accessible tips on investing, pensions, ISAs, and retirement planning, plus occasional media and communications insights for reaching retail investors. A standout pattern is rotating guest experts alongside seasoned hosts, which provides both market color and actionable strategies for everyday savers and DIY investors. The format often includes company case studies and policy context to help listeners understand ... more
