  • Thank You

My therapist introduced me to the concept of Positive Disintegration and during my deep dive I found your podcast. I’ve listened to 15 episodes in the past week and have to say all of what you present resonates with me so much. I appreciate you taking the time to do this and also recognize when to help the lay person interpret the jargon and concepts. Looking forward to getting through the entire back catalog and being an ongoing listener. Cheers.

  • Stumbled upon and never felt more empowered

I found this podcast through some podcasts on neurodivergence and eating disorders and the deep dive I’ve been on has been setting off so many epiphanies for me. I feel like these people just “get” me and I don’t even know them. I think this way and it feels like Chris and the speakers are my people. As a psychology lover and researcher I’ve never felt so eager to learn and treating myself as my own research project! It’s empowering to for the first time not see myself as defective, disabled and... more

Q: What have been some of the most difficult things that you faced about misunderstanding yourself?
The hardest thing was to realize that I was okay, that it wasn't me that was wrong, it was the external environment around me.
Healing Through Writing
Q: When you were talking about fitting in and conforming to the social norms, was it a fact that you felt like you were fitting, albeit illy, into that role?
It was a performative thing, I had to split off definitely from my true self and create this false self to fit in and leave a lot of myself behind.

I discovered Dabrowski's theory in 2018, by reading the book Living with Intensity by Susan Daniels and Michael Piechowski.
