I have been listening to Devorah’s podcast for a while now, and I have really enjoyed a small handful of her guests. The format of this podcast has so much potential. However, I can no longer continue to support a podcast that is irresponsible with their content and editing, and is clearly pushing a religious/right wing agenda. If you listen closely enough for long enough, it seems that Devorah is only bringing on guests who support a Christian lifestyle. The things these folks have been through... more
I do enjoy the podcast but some episodes are so hard to follow. The guests jump around their stories so much. I understand that having a script is not the point, but having structure would help to have a cohesive account of events.
Guests pour out the most traumatic experiences of their lives on this show and are not compensated in any way by Devorah Roloff, not even reimbursed for their travel expenses. the term “interview” is doing a lot of heavy lifting here, since Devorah only occasionally asks basic follow up questions and adding a few “uh huhs”throughout the episodes. it’s clear she does little to no editing, apart from splicing some HelloFresh ads into the middle of graphic descriptions of child sexual abuse. The titles of the episodes always draw you in and then the actual bulk of the episode just drags. People cannot seem to get to the point of their story and a two hour episode encompasses a 20 min story start to finish. I know the participants are happy to get the air time, but the language is mind numbing (umm, like,)and I am left disappointed most of the time.
Love your guests and their stories and just the general concept of this show is amazing! My only frustration is that the “influencer accent” is very distracting, not sure if that’s something you can improve or edit out? Or is this just how people talk these days?

The show collects real, unvarnished stories from guests navigating trauma, mental health, and difficult life events. Episodes frequently center on abuse, family dynamics, recovery, and resilience, often highlighting how personal narratives shape identity and coping strategies. The format leans into authentic conversation with limited editing, which can yield powerful moments but also sometimes results in uneven audio or pacing. Notable consistency across episodes is a focus on survivor voices, community, and healing through storytelling, with guests ranging from abuse survivors to people overcoming medical or relational hardship. Potential listeners may be drawn to candid, emotionally raw storytelling and to perspectives that shed light on ... more
