  • Answers and tools that work, FINALLY!

Figuring out that my daughter is PDA was a big piece of the picture we had been missing, but just because we figured that out didn’t mean we knew how to best support her. That’s where Casey comes in. This podcast and the resources on her website continue to empower me with the tools to accommodate our daughter in a compassionate, effective, neuroaffirming way. Casey’s knowledge-base is inclusive and far-reaching, covering not only the cornerstones of PDA but also complicated intersectional topic... more

  • Forever grateful

I found Casey years ago as a single parent to a very young (unbeknownst to me) pda-er. I was overwhelmed, isolated, with diagnosis’s that didnt fully fit and no one believing what I was going through. Our lives are forever changed for the better from Casey’s strategies, research and lived experience. To say that this podcast is worth a listen is a gross understatement. All her resources, free and paid are top notch! Thank you Casey and team!

  • Clarity and hope

I first heard Casey on a different podcast she ran for a limited series where she and a fellow mom shared similar and differing experiences as moms of PDA children. I was deeply moved by those stories and felt less alone in my experience.

This current podcast is one I turn to again and again for clarity in my own experience, for tools to use with my child, and I often refer my clients whom I see as a psychotherapist toward the podcast for those same reasons.

    I’m grateful for this resource!

How A Dad Changed His Parenting To Stop Fighting His Child With Pathological Demand Avoidance: An Interview With My Husband | Ep. 164
Q: How has your view of masculinity changed in this new paradigm?
I moved away from the traditional enforcer image toward vulnerability, collaboration, and being present as a caregiver and partner. This shift was essential to protect my kids and help them thrive in sports and daily life while reducing judgment from peers.
How A Dad Changed His Parenting To Stop Fighting His Child With Pathological Demand Avoidance: An Interview With My Husband | Ep. 164
Q: What role did skepticism and past parenting approaches play in your transition to a more experimental method?
I had to acknowledge that the prior strict, enforcer approach wasn't working and that our relationship with Cooper had suffered. Trying something different, while scary, provided a path to rebuild trust and open space for experimentation under Casey's guidance.
How A Dad Changed His Parenting To Stop Fighting His Child With Pathological Demand Avoidance: An Interview With My Husband | Ep. 164
Q: So now working for At Peace Parents, what is your day to day typically look like working for the business?
The day-to-day shifted dramatically when our younger son came home from school and we started unschooling. I moved from behind-the-scenes admin work to being with my son, meeting him where he is, and balancing family needs with supporting the business.
A PDA Neuropsychologist on How Pathologically Demand Avoidant Brains Actually Work | Ep. 165
Q: Can you give examples of how you assess PDA children and teens when they're burnout or hard to get into the clinic?
There isn't a single method; we use a range from Psypact-enabled remote work to in-person observation, often starting with helping parents advocate and navigate school systems, and gradually building a relationship with the child through low-demand activities like Minecraft to open communication.
Ep. 141 - Getting Started Parenting Your PDAer
Q: What are all our choices when the older child is equalizing against the younger brother?
Casey mentions various options such as stopping some tasks, removing the baby from the situation, or keeping them both safe while trying to manage the situation as best as possible.
