  • From the beginning

I loved the 500th episode where we heard from longtime listeners. We share an inspiring vision, but it’s heartbreaking that we still have a long way to go. I was an early follower too, and only wish I had found Tlit even sooner. 10 years?!?! Thanks for your tenacity Debbie Reber!

  • So informative!

Great podcast, but please stop Zach from saying “right” so many times. It makes it very difficult to listen to the ones he’s a guest on.

  • Ad Issues, Great Content

I love the content but the way the ads are structured turns me off of this show and makes me reconsider listening. There are way too many ads and they are very long and interrupt the flow of the episode. And a mini episode I listened to, almost half of the “episode” was ad space! I understand they’re a necessary evil, but I listen to many podcasts and this one has the worst ad setup, from a user experience, out of any that I listen to.

  • Great!

She did a wonderful interview with Dr. Melanie Hayes about 2e kids. That is what helped me find the podcast, and now I enjoy listening to it. Thanks for all your great work!

TPP 375a: How Can Our Family Navigate Vacations When They Throw Off My Child's Need for Routine
Q: How can families plan for vacations when a child is highly routine-driven or autistic?
Start with thorough pre-trip planning, involve the child in choosing activities, and build in flexible windows for downtime. Use visual aids to outline departures and daily plans, prepare for potential stressors ahead of time, and create backup plans so the trip can adapt without escalating dysregulation.
TPP 013b: Margaret Webb Shares Tools & Mindsets for Surviving Summer Break
Q: What are the core components of the Summer Survival Skills package and why were they chosen?
They include mapping, tracking, rituals, and celebration learned from nature-based coaching; chosen because they provide structure, anticipation, and a sense of control for both parent and child, making summers more manageable.
TPP 013b: Margaret Webb Shares Tools & Mindsets for Surviving Summer Break
Q: Why are summers so difficult for families raising differently wired kids?
Summers feel harder because the year is tightly scheduled, but summer invites relaxation that clashes with the family's realities and the child's intense energy, leading to a mismatch between expectations and what actually happens.
TPP 319a: Dr. Gail Post on the Gifted Parenting Journey and Support for Families of Gifted Children
Q: Well, I'd love if you could take a few minutes to just introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about the work that you do.
Gail describes her 35-year career as a clinical psychologist who focuses on gifted and twice-exceptional individuals, her advocacy work, and her book The Gifted Parenting Journey, which centers on helping parents understand themselves to better support their children.
You Might Also Like: Everyone Gets a Juice Box, from Understood.org
Q: Was your kid able to say or do they ever say it, oh, this is I'm learning?
Yes, after deciding to change course and adopt a new approach, my child began engaging with the homeschooling model, signaling growing enthusiasm and a sense of ownership in their education.
