My sister listens religiously and send me episodes to listen to sometimes. I’m an auntie of 3 boys, no kids and not sure I ever will be but I want to be a safe space for any child around me. And this podcasts helps me grow each episode! Thanks!
Dr Becky, you don’t have to so dramatically over enunciate EVERY SINGLE WORD. Can’t listen to the podcast even through I’m interested in the content because the voice is so over the top. Chill!
The host’s voice is choppy, almost like the audio is sliced up many times to remove background noise or the host’s breathing. The host’s voice is also heavy with vocal fry. I am very interested in Dr. Becky’s lessons, though, and will definitely grab the book or download the app!
My psychologist suggested this podcast when I asked for support resources as I started my journey as a step parent. Without fail, I have learnt things to implement; and try to influence my husband to see some of Dr Becky’s perspective (like, the kids isn’t doing this TO you, they don’t have the tools they need to process this big emotion). My stepson seemed to light up when I told him he was good inside, even after he’s behaved in a way we both know isn’t ideal.
Dr. Becky shares so much wonderful information in a way that makes you feel personally seen, heard, and understood. I follow several other parenting podcasts with a similar vein of information, but this is the most unpretentious of them all. Much of her advice feels like self-care, and can really apply in many relationships beyond parenting.
