  • Yes, to pleasure!

Thank you for this fantastic podcast. Not only do I feel like I’m listening to a girlfriend, but an educated one who wants to help women everywhere. Notably, you talk about intimacy and pleasure - a topic rarely spoken about, in regard to women’s health and the stage of menopause. So many experts are talking about HRT but leave out intimacy completely. And, as you’ve said, “women don’t value pleasure across the world…” Yup. Our bodies were made for pleasure. Plus, your guest experts are top notc... more

  • Thank you!

I recently made the transition to gynecology after 6 years as an ER PA, and this podcast has been a great resource - it should come with CMEs! But seriously, it has been very informative and easy to listen to. Thanks for all you share for the benefit of other medical professionals and patients alike.

  • Great podcast for sexual medicine!

I have been following this podcast since the beginning and LOVE the episodes, I listen every week. I’m a WHNP working in sexual/reproductive health and recently got interested in sexual medicine. I recommend this podcast to other clinicians. The PGAD episodes were particularly great, to hear about PGAD from someone with the perspective of both a patient and pelvic floor PT! Also really enjoying Dr. Rowan’s interview. Thanks Gyno Girl!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Understanding Orgasms: Science, Solutions, and Why Doctors Don't Ask with Dr. Lauren Streicher
Q: What are common barriers preventing clinicians from addressing orgasm with patients, and how can clinicians help?
Clinicians often miss the topic due to time pressures, lack of training, and biases; addressing it requires education, creating a safe space, using visual aids to explain anatomy, and offering practical treatment options like targeted therapies and partner-inclusive approaches.
Understanding Orgasms: Science, Solutions, and Why Doctors Don't Ask with Dr. Lauren Streicher
Q: So first, what's an orgasm, and how does it happen biologically?
An orgasm is the culmination of arousal, with pelvic engorgement, clitoral and vaginal stimulation, and rhythmic muscle contractions that create a subjective sense of pleasure and satisfaction; multiple pathways exist, and understanding the anatomy helps explain why some women need specific stimulation to achieve it.
Pelvic Venous Disorders, Chronic Pain, and the Pelvic Floor with Dr. Julie Baron
Q: How should clinicians approach imaging and multidisciplinary care for suspected pelvic venous disease?
Start with vascular-focused imaging like trans-abdominal duplex ultrasound, but recognize its limitations and follow up with MR venography and eventually venography with IVUS when needed. The best care comes from a team including interventional radiology, vascular surgery, pelvic floor physical therapy, and other specialties to address coexisting conditions like MCAS, EDS, and POTS.
Pelvic Venous Disorders, Chronic Pain, and the Pelvic Floor with Dr. Julie Baron
Q: What was your origin story and how did you evolve into focusing on pelvic venous disease?
My training and early career were rooted in sports medicine and treating chronic pain, but personal experiences with chronic pelvic and leg pain, misdiagnoses, and a pivotal diagnosis shifted my focus toward pelvic health. That personal journey—combined with witnessing how vascular issues intersect with the pelvic floor—led me to develop a pathway for recognizing and treating pelvic venous disease and to educate others through courses and conferences.
Fertility Myths, Egg Freezing, and The Lucky Egg with Dr. Lucky Sekhon
Q: Do you think everyone should bank on egg freezing, or who should consider it?
She argues against absolutes, framing egg freezing as a strategic head start rather than a guaranteed insurance policy, and emphasizes timing, egg quality, and individual circumstances as the key considerations.
