  • Love it, however…

I love Dr. Streicher! As a happily married conservative Christian man, however, the could do without her leftwing politics. Other than that, she’s brilliant, informative and is really beneficial to me and my wife. Love you! Keep up the good work!

  • Informative, honest, and insightful!

This podcast is a comprehensive and engaging women’s health podcast and I listen in every week often times relistening to my favorites. I truly appreciate the vast array of topics and expert guest speakers she brings on, as well as her evidence-based approach to every discussion.

What really stands out is her ability to highlight not only what we do know, but also where research is lacking and how politics and policy impact women’s health. The FDA roundtable episode was particularly enlightenin... more

  • Life-changing information

Highly recommend! I am so grateful for Dr. Streicher and her podcast! It’s difficult to find factual, helpful, unbiased information about perimenopause and menopause. This arms you with information to better understand what’s happening in your body. It’s information that makes women feel empowered to discuss treatment with their doctors, and it helped me to find the right doctor who understands menopause and is interested in helping patients. I have learned so much! Thank you, Dr. Streicher.

  • Thank you!

Thank you Dr Steicher and Dr Menn for this amazing conversation about sexual health post breast cancer. This was me a few months ago …before a practitioner nurse accepted to prescribe me an oestrogen vaginal cream. I’m 14 years post breast cancer and no, it was not too late. Now… I’m ditching the applicator! LOL

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

S4 Ep200: Perimenopause Problems-an Experts Approach with Dr. Steven Goldstein
Q: What is your stance on using low-dose birth control pills in perimenopause, and how does it compare to hormone therapy?
Low-dose birth control pills suppress erratic ovarian function and provide a steady amount of estrogen and progestin, which can address mood, sleep, and bleeding irregularities in perimenopause more effectively for some patients than traditional menopausal hormone therapy, and it avoids adding to endogenous ovarian fluctuations.
S4 Ep200: Perimenopause Problems-an Experts Approach with Dr. Steven Goldstein
Q: Could you talk about the practical differences between perimenopause and postmenopause for patients and clinicians?
Perimenopause is a phase with erratic ovarian function and variable bleeding that can last several years, whereas postmenopause is when there is no ovarian function and bleeding has ceased for 12 months; treatment approaches differ because perimenopause often involves fluctuations that can be managed with targeted hormonal strategies, while postmenopause focuses on symptom control and long-term health risks.
S4 Ep199: Closing the Mind-Body Libido Gap with Dr. Lori Brotto
Q: What evidence supports the use of mindfulness versus CBT for low sexual desire?
Both approaches have substantial randomized trial support, with mindfulness showing strong effect sizes in recent studies, often around 0.9 to 1.0, and CBT historically around 0.8, with the choice depending on individual needs and goals.
S4 Ep196: An Intimate Conversation with the Author of The Intimate Animal, Dr. Justin Garcia
Q: Is lifelong monogamy realistic given evolutionary and social contexts?
Biologists distinguish between social monogamy (pair bonding) and sexual monogamy; while there can be tensions, alignment of these levers with open communication can maintain a strong primary relationship.
S4 Ep196: An Intimate Conversation with the Author of The Intimate Animal, Dr. Justin Garcia
Q: What role does technology play in changing dating dynamics, beyond simply expanding options?
Technology is a vehicle that amplifies data access and choice, but the core issue is cognitive overload and the paradox of choice; the real challenge is maintaining focus and connection with a real partner rather than chasing endless options.
