  • Thank you!

Thank you for having your husband on the show. My husband is a hockey fiend (fine, so am I) and our 17 year old son plays. So when I heard on Dr Mary Claire Haver’s IG HER husband was listening…I found this podcast in my queue and sent it to my husband. Having a husband and hockey player talk about this…opened up doors for us in just a day. I did have to explain that while I follow the Menoposse…I’m not a member. 🤣 thank you for this!

The 4 Things Most Pregnant Women Are Missing and Why They Matter for Life | Jessie Inchauspe | #152
Q: Is there a priming period before pregnancy when these dietary changes should start, or can you start any time?
The earlier you start, the better, because nutrients like omega-3s and protein levels take months to build up, giving the fetus a greater reserve to draw on during development.
Gut Health, Estrogen, and What to Eat for Your Body in Midlife | Dr. Emily Prpa | #150
Q: Are there three simple things we should notice about ourselves as we notice changes in gut health and menopause-related symptoms?
The three practical takeaways are to listen to your body and trust its signals, adopt a gut-forward dietary approach focusing on high-fiber, plant-forward meals, and plan meals ahead of time to maintain consistency without feeling overwhelmed, which helps manage energy, digestion, and mood during midlife transitions.
The 30-30-3 Rule: A Simple Framework for Women Over 40 to Conquer Hormone Havoc | Dr. Amy Shah | #149
Q: What role do ultra-processed foods play in our diet?
More than 65% of grocery store items are ultra-processed, which can lead to less nutritional benefit and health problems in the long term, emphasizing the need for deliberate choices in whole foods.
The 30-30-3 Rule: A Simple Framework for Women Over 40 to Conquer Hormone Havoc | Dr. Amy Shah | #149
Q: How does the timing of food affect our body?
Eating in alignment with our circadian rhythms allows our bodies to naturally repair and optimize metabolism, while eating late disrupts this process and can lead to issues like indigestion and fatigue.
The 30-30-3 Rule: A Simple Framework for Women Over 40 to Conquer Hormone Havoc | Dr. Amy Shah | #149
Q: Why is it important to get 30 grams of protein at breakfast?
Starting your day with 30 grams of protein can benefit focus, motivation, mood, and cravings, helping to offer better daily outcomes especially for women in perimenopause and menopause.
