  • What happened to Phelps?

Cutting the distance was one of my favorites, it was a mistake replacing it with in pursuit. Meateater networks have lost my interest.

  • Love the real talk on Fitness.

Thanks for the extensive line up of info. Also to the guy that said “do t want to listen to a fitness podcast”….umm don’t? Pay for your high fence hunt/governor tag and keep killing the exotic cattle. The rest of us will stay primitive.

  • Don’t want to listen

Don’t want to listen to a fitness podcast, was only here for good elk hunting stories and tips from the real hunters that bring home meat to the table, not CrossFit meat heads full of themselves.

  • Ep. 143 - suppressor

You were talking about not being sure if you’re able to take your suppressor to the Yukon and how you can’t take pistols, here in Canada suppressors are fully illegal to own and handguns are only legally allowed to be shot at a licensed gun range. Can’t even shoot them on our own property legally.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep. 33: Jake Curreri - The Future of Wearables and Health Metrics
Q: What baseline metrics should beginners focus on when starting with wearables?
Start with tracking sleep quality, resting heart rate, and heart rate variability to establish a baseline. Then observe how lifestyle choices—nutrition, caffeine, alcohol, and training load—shift those metrics over time.
Ep. 29: Todd Anderson - Optimizing Sleep for Maximum Recovery
Q: What would you change about recovery protocols if you could go back to when you were competing?
Sauna and cold plunge together, more rehab/prehab work, and adopting breathing and sleep optimization earlier, recognizing that access to gear was more limited, but the fundamentals of recovery still mattered.
Ep. 23: Matt Johnson - Running Across Texas for Veterans
Q: How did running come about?
Running started as a means to cope with trauma, and it became a significant part of my journey towards healing and helping others.
Ep. 21: Pat Spinosa - Highlighting Rural America
Q: Where do you see the podcast going in the future?
I want to continue storytelling and look for ways to engage with audiences beyond just the podcasts.
Ep. 9: Nate Illingsworth - Changing Your Life and Hunts Through Fitness
Q: How did you navigate the ups and downs of weight loss?
Having a supportive partner is key; my wife helped by tracking my macros and meal planning for me.
