Pretty poor form to not watch the documentary before the interview and then make the discussion largely about yourself

  • Brilliant podcast!

I’ve just listened to your recent podcast on Arthritis and really enjoyed it. I love your approach to wellness and it’s so empowering to know there’s always something we can do to prevent these conditions developing or worsening. You’ve definitely got my vote for more of the single condition episodes and I’d love to hear one on Osteoporosis. Keep up the great work!

100NO 688: From Retirement to 100 Marathons with Chris Hobson
Q: What motivated you to start running again after retirement?
I wanted the buzz of activity and a purpose, so I picked up running, started with shorter marathons, and gradually moved to longer commitments as I found joy and meaning in the process.
100NO 681: From Symptoms to Solutions: Rethinking Longevity Testing with Dr Nik Alexopoulos
Q: How should we think about the balance between symptoms and long-term well-being in practice?
The discussion suggests shifting from symptom-driven care to forward-looking, data-informed decisions that focus on overall longevity and well-being, using testing to guide preventative strategies rather than just address present symptoms.
100NO 681: From Symptoms to Solutions: Rethinking Longevity Testing with Dr Nik Alexopoulos
Q: What is a practical baseline and how often should people recheck their health markers when they are actively changing their lifestyle?
A practical baseline is established with initial testing, followed by regular rechecks every three to six months for early movers, and around four months for general health measures; if someone makes targeted, high-intensity changes, intervals can be shorter to monitor the impact, then extended as results stabilize.

The guests emphasize education and setting a long-term health trajectory as opposed to rapid fixes, noting that some improvements take time and that patients should focus on sustainable changes and a consistent testing cadence to observe meaningful progress.
