Today I listen to your discussion with Mr Guidara and once again I noticed your interruptions to talk about your own understand and achievements on hospitality.

I became interested in your Stoic teachings when you appeared o MSNow. I am excited about these ideas but I am also curious what others might say.

Please try to focus on your guest and occasionally relate your stories into the discussion.

I have noticed this in many of your guest interviews.

  • Genuinely Impactful

I studied philosophy in college more than 25 years ago, including Stoicism, but it never truly clicked for me in a practical, life-changing way until I found Ryan Holiday’s work.

Holiday has an incredible ability to take these ancient ideas and make them relevant and actionable in everyday life.

I don’t say this lightly: this podcast has played a significant role in improving my life. Highly recommended.

  • Good stoic messages, wish the messenger was better

Jocko willink is an actual stoic; down judge, tries to understand all sides and has a calm demeanor. Ryan provides sanctimonious judgment and gets overly emotional with politics

  • Expert

Ryan does know a lot about the stoics no doubt but after the presidential election last year he lost a lot of government related speaking engagements and has definitely been anything but stoic. The political BS has made him unbearable. He really acts like a jilted child. He knows a lot about the stoics but he is really not that stoic and it’s laughable.

You Can’t Help But Leave a Piece | Ask Daily Stoic
Q: There was an essay done in the 1940s by Albert Camus called The Myth of Sisyphus, in which he finishes the essay saying, one must imagine Sisyphus as happy, in that the pursuit towards the heights should fill a man's heart. How much of a parallel between what Camus was talking about, which is absurdism, and stoicism?
There is a fair amount of overlap; imagining Sisyphus happy reflects detachment from outcomes and a focus on the ongoing act itself, which aligns with Stoic ideas that meaning comes from the cultivation of virtue and the present effort rather than external rewards.
